What is JR Haruka Express Train?
The JR Haruka Express Train is a rapid and comfortable railway service operated by Japan Railways (JR) that connects Kansai International Airport to major cities in the Kansai region, including Osaka and Kyoto.
What trains are covered?
You can enjoy not only the Kansai-Airport Express “HARUKA”, but also other trains such as Special Rapid Services, Rapid Services, and local trains.

Pass eligibility
- This offer is not available for Japanese passport holders
- Up to two children (Aged 0-5) travel free with an adult rail pass holder if they don't occupy a seat. A child rail pass is needed for each additional child starting from the third
- Valid only for non-Japanese passport holders with a "Temporary Visitor" Visa stamp on the passport. Non-Japanese passport holders with a permanent residence in Japan cannot use this product
- Secure a Temporary Visitor Stamp at immigration to be eligible for a JR Pass. Do not pass through the automated gates, as no stamp will be applied

Reviews summarySince it was my first time in Osaka, I didn't do any research beforehand and got a bit lost trying to find my way. I also had a little trouble finding my tickets because I had paper tickets instead of QR codes. I scanned the QR code at the ticket machine, issued the tickets, selected my seats, and received two physical tickets. There's also a counter right next to it where you can get an Icoca card, so minors or those without Apple Pay can handle both at once. They'll issue an Icoca card for 2000 yen.
My itinerary was delayed, so I ended up taking the Haruka train for the first time to get to the airport after finishing my trip. There was a long line at the ticket counter, so I quickly bought a ticket through Klook, which was cheaper than buying it locally and allowed for a quick exchange, which was very convenient. I was a bit flustered because I was in a hurry and couldn't select my boarding time or seat, but luckily, I found a comfortable seat in car 6 of the 3:47 PM Haruka non-reserved section and made it to the airport safely. Thanks to Haruka, I was able to retrieve my luggage on time and conclude my trip smoothly. Excellent!

My experience taking the JR HAKURA EXPRESS from Kansai airport to Kyoto was convenient, spacious, clean and fast, the hello kitty character is so cute, it has baggage compartment, if you want to have comfortable trip and save money i literally recommend this JR hakura express. It was worth it.❤️❤️❤️
It was great to be able to easily visit many places by bus in a short period of time. If you want to visit many places, be sure to use a sightseeing tour. I personally tried visiting by subway and bus, but it was a waste of time and too much walking, which was physically exhausting. I highly recommend it because you can learn about history from a friendly tour guide, have them take pictures, and get other travel tips. ^^

Great booking! really saved us from the rush hour trains from osaka to kansai. we had 2 large luggage each and the only way to fit inside a busy train is to use the haruka train. train was on time and comfortable. there were spaces provided in each car for luggages. we were also allowed to eat. it is also cheaper by using the klook app. will definitely use this service again and will highly recommend it
very easy to redeem and reserved seat. can use machine but as one of my tickets can’t read the passport, we still need to go to the office to redeem. I choose the physical ticket but I think if opted for qr code will be much easier.
Seamless and fastest way to go from Kyoto Station to Osaka Kansai Airport! The initial setting up looks a little overwhelming but once you were able to add your ticket, you can easily select your preferred time and seats. So easy and quick! We’re also happy that we were able to ride the Hello Kitty Haruka back to Kansai. 🥰
