Reviews
This is a great way to see Gion. Since most of the crowds are there during the day, the night time is the perfect time to go. Plus, if you get Jasmine, you will have an incredibly knowledgeable guide. Totally worth the money!
it's was an incredible tour. The guide was really kind and shows lots of knowledge about Kyoto and it's culture, I learn a lot about the religious part of Japan, shrines and temples. I'm glad of taking this tour, we could take photos, videos, ask any questions and feel a little closer to the japanese culture. High recommendation!
Jasmine was our amazing guide! So knowledgable, caring and helpful. Learnt so much about the history and meaning of each part was awesome. We walked some parts during the day, but doing the night tour, you walk away amazed at the history, culture and spirituality involved in it. So beautiful. 🙏🏾❤️
We never thought that our last minute booking would turn our Kyoto experience a memorable one. Very informative guided tour, it makes us love Japan even more. Kyoto has so much to offer, one of a kind. No words can describe how beautiful Kyoto is. Definitely would love to come back. And we come back, we will booked again the same walked tour.
It was quite a wonderful experience to see the Gion area at night. I had a great time exploring the many sights on this quided walking tour with our guide, Jasmine. She gave us insights on the differences between Shrines and Temples. I was hoping to see a Geisha or a Maiko in the area, but we're not in luck! It was quite a walk but it was fun!
Having roamed the area earlier in the day it was great to be there at night and to learn the history of Gion. Naoki manoeuvred our large group well keeping us all together and safe, also ensuring we all heard the details he was informing us about. He taught us what to do when at the shrines and also suggested eateries along the way. It was a fabulous 3 hours.
Jasmine was our tour guide and she was absolutely amazing!! she made the tour lively and funny while also providing so many facts and answering all of our questions!! the tour was great but im honestly going to miss her
I booked a spontaneous evening walk through Kyoto Gion on 16.03.2026. The tour included things I already wanted to see, so it was a good mix for me. Jasmine was our guide and she did a really good job. She explained everything and made sure everyone stayed together. The tour didn’t feel strict or rushed, everything flowed smoothly. She was interested in the group and talked with us. We had enough time at each stop and she offered to take pictures, which was nice. At the end she even gave restaurant recommendations, which I think is always nice. The 3 hours went by quickly and the city feels very different at night. I learned new things, met nice people and got great photos. I can recommend it for a relaxed walk through Gion. If you get Jasmine as your guide, you’re lucky.
Jasmine was a fabulous host with so much local knowledge to share and constant consideration and care for all of us particularly when it started raining. Gion by night is magical and I’m so glad we chose to do it this way first as I feel so much more affinity for the area after experiencing it this way with little to no other people. We were able to take beautiful photos and see so much of Gion. Thank you Jasmine from your new Australian friends.
Naoki is an excellent guide and knows a lot about the history of Kyoto. The tour lasts 3 hours but doesn't feel heavy because we kept making stops, Naoki would explain things to us, and then we would continue. We visited typical places but managed to understand the history behind that place and its relevance to the city. That was outstanding because we were able to appreciate the views while we were learning. Naoki asked us to respect certain places and to avoid being a bad tourist.
