Reviews
Due to the remote location of the event, driving time takes up most of the trip. The icebreaker experience was very good, but the Yunzhixia Ice and Snow Festival was a bit too short to take a good photo tour. The tour guide only understands Japanese, but can use Google Translate to communicate. He also has prepared translated information for foreign tourists to understand (Picture 4). He is very dedicated. As for Klook’s event information and customer service, they are very poor! There was an error in the introduction of the meeting place for the event. I raised a question with the customer service staff. The customer service staff continued to quote the wrong information on the introduction and directed the guests to the wrong meeting place! If you don’t confirm with the activity provider before departure, you will miss a whole day of itinerary!
The drive takes 8-9 hours round trip. There are rest stops on the way to go to the bathroom. Although the distance is long, it is worth going. The seafood tanorayaki for lunch is delicious. It is a cold weather and the sea is covered by thick ice. It is very spectacular. It’s amazing to see the icebreaker breaking the ice one by one. The Sounkyo Ice Falls Festival light show is also another highlight of this trip. There are many indoor ice sculptures and buried lights, which are very beautiful. However, the sightseeing time is only 40 minutes, which is a bit rushed. , and some locations are slippery and easy to reach, so be careful. The tour guide is Japanese, but there is no communication barrier. He will always write down the return time. Everyone is very punctual. Overall, I highly recommend this trip.
Its a very long trip. Make sure you check the weather before booking the trip, we cant see any ice on the sea. But the whole trip is still recommended.
Vy good to have the tour guide in this trip. And wear more clothes for your warmth.
It is recommended for all who want to have the long trip to see the ice on sea:)
It’s a really spectacular place. You don’t have to go to Finland to experience the feeling of an icebreaker. Although some of the ice melted when you went there, it was really an unforgettable experience. It was also the first time you experienced the world of -20C.
Although there was a strong wind on site, the sailing boats were suspended, and entry to the Sounkyo Ice Melting Igloo was prohibited, but overall it was quite convenient, and I would still choose this itinerary to make up for the exam if I had the chance.
This was quite the highlight of the trip! Nice view and memorable experience. The journey there was pretty long with several short service stops along the way. Lunch was free and easy at the terminal with limited choices but given the time, it was just nice enough time before boarding. Those who signed up for one with lunch will drop at the earlier stop where the rest shopped for fresh seafood. Next stop was the Sounkyo Ice Fall Festival which was a little underwhelming. Though it stated a 40mins, in reality we only have about 20-30mins as it accounts for time taken to get to the parking area meeting point which is a distance. Though the guide conducted the tour mainly in Japanese, there was audio translation in English for the benefit of foreign travellers who form the minority of the tour group. Do be mindful that the Japanese tour unlike other tours requires all travellers to follow a set of rules e.g. to remain quiet, light snacking and be punctual.
Make an appointment to pick up at multiple locations. But going to choose at sappor view hotel odori is very punctual. Check the name, measure the temperature, sit according to the seat number, visit the fish market, go to the icebreaker. You can eat here (not included in the washing machine), the ice is beautiful. Visiting the ice festival at night is beautiful, but there is little time. Overall, it's good.
Thanks for being able to see it smoothly + take the icebreaker, but the journey from Sapporo is far away. It is not recommended because you can see the ice floes, but I personally think there is nothing, especially the weather is too cold... Lunch is the worst. The food court around 1:30pm has no sun-dried wild food. If you want to eat the cup noodles at the convenience store... I suggest you buy wild food, but I would like to praise the ice festival in Japan. It’s really good. There are a lot of check-in spots, but I can’t see the fireworks at the Sounkyo Ice Festival at 8:30pm. I can’t wait until the next time If you want to play as much as you want, you must travel by car~
