What to expect
🏯 Day 1: Takayama and Shirakawa-go Our first destination is Takayama. Known for its beautifully preserved old townscape, Takayama retains a strong sense of traditional streetscapes and historic atmosphere. Next, we’ll visit Shirakawa-go, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its Gassho-zukuri houses, built over 250 years ago. 🏠After sightseeing, we’ll stay overnight at a hotel in Toyama Prefecture. 🏔️ Day 2: Tateyama and Murodo Plateau The next day, we’ll head to Murodo Plateau🌄 in the Tateyama area, at an altitude of 2,450 meters. In spring, massive snow walls approximately 20 meters high appear. Walking along these massive snow walls, known as the "Daisetsu Kairo"🌨️, is an awe-inspiring experience and one of the most unique highlights of this tour🥶📸

Tateyama snow wall on D2 definitely is the highlight of this trip. Get food on D1 nite in Takaoka to eat on bus after snow wall as there is no lunch stop on D2. But the view on Tateyama is worth it. ps note subject to weather condition. we r lucky to get clear blue sky so pic turn out great. when we descend, the sky got foggy..

Shirakawa-go is a timeless village with beautiful gassho-zukuri houses, surrounded by peaceful fields and rolling hills. the trip is good and recommended. the driver has good driving skills which I don’t feel sick over the hours road trip. the tour guide is super friendly and helpful. of coz the view is stunning is worth to go once in a life.
This trip cover 3 most wanted places of interest in 2 days, fuse free and efficient. My trip on 28apr was serve by a local tour guide Amy. She is well prep with all the maps and details, making the short trip a memorable one
We enjoyed this tour. Takayama weather was not good as it kept raining and Shirakawa-go was a bit rushed but we had a great time in the Snow Wall, which was our top priority this trip. Our snow wall tour almost got cancelled as it snowed heavily the night before but thankfully we had amazing weather!! Naho-chan took good care of us but I do recommend her to brush up more on English for the English speaking guests. I do find it helpful that she sends us updates through the Whatsapp group which made instructions way clearer as I believe she is more comfortable writing vs. speaking.

I'm glad we took this tour. It's hassle free and you don't have to worry about transportation. Tom, our tour guide, was very friendly and helpful. The APA hotel we stayed at was spacious. Kudos to the driver, too! We arrived safe and sound.. Highly recommended!
Highly recommend this tour. Itinerary was well paced. Bus drive has pit stops every 1 and a half to 2 hours. Sites were stunning. Tour guide Yukari gave clear instructions on our schedule, sites to see and restaurants recommendation. Hotel was good, had onsen.
I wanted to go to these 3 places and I was looking for trips from Osaka, I was so glad I went with this one. It was super convenient for me, I wouldn't go to these places by DIYing it. I expected the long travelling hours by bus given the distance but it was a good time to catch up on some sleep and travel planning. I still got my steps in going around Hida Takayama, Shirakawago and Tateyama's Snow Walls to experience a different nuance of Japan. I thought 2 hours for Murodo was the right amount of time allowance but perhaps Hida Takayama and Shirakawago could be extended 15 minutes each for wandering around, photos and dining as we arrived at the hotel 30 minutes earlier than the itinerary time. Amy our tour guide was well organized and covered all the bases, I am also grateful for the good driving (no motion sickness) and the ample rest stops.
Good to know
- In case there is congestion in Alpen Route, departure on Day 2 from hotel may be earlier than scheduled.
- In case of adverse weather, Tateyama Toll Road will not be accessible and Murodo where Otani Snow Wall is located cannot be reached by tour bus. Cable car will be used with extra charge to go to Murodo. Participants need to pay JPY 5000 ～7000円 per person for this situation. Please kindly be noted
- In case of adverse weather, Tateyama Toll Road will not be accessible, schedule will be changed to city sightseeing in Kanazawa(Kanazawa Castle Town, Higashi Chayagai, Omicho Market etc.). In this case participants will receive JPY 1000 each as refund
- In case of adverse weather, Otani Snow Wall Walk may be cut, and no refund will be made
- Luggage allowance: 1 piece of standard-sized luggage (approx. 24inches)
- The type of room may be one room for one person even if two or more people participate
- The schedule might change depending on traffic and weather conditions or other uncontrollable incidents
- Infants aged 0-2 are free of charge, but do not have seats on the bus (on laps). If necessary, please make a reservation for 3 years old..
