Reviews
Purchasing tickets for the Lake Akan sightseeing cruise through Klook was incredibly convenient. We simply presented the QR code at the pier's ticket counter to quickly exchange it for physical tickets. The process was smooth and easy, completely avoiding long queues or time constraints. Even better, the tickets aren't tied to a specific departure time; you can board any boat before the last one, which offers great flexibility for planning your itinerary. The ability to redeem tickets at either pier is also very convenient for travelers. The cruise ship itself has a modern appearance, and the cabin is clean and comfortable, featuring family seating, a tatami area, and a children's play area. Although there isn't a snack bar, the overall atmosphere is cozy. During the journey, the boat sailed deep into Lake Akan, then circled along the shoreline. The lake water was clear, surrounded by lush green mountains and swaying reeds along the banks, creating a beautiful natural landscape. Midway, we stopped at Churui Island, where I disembarked to visit the Marimo Exhibition and Observation Center. The exhibit showcased various sizes of rare and adorable spherical green algae balls. Although the visit time was limited, I was still able to admire them up close and take photos. Finally, the sightseeing boat slowly returned to the pier, concluding this pleasant lake journey. It's worth noting that in July, the temperature at Lake Akan is only in the low 50s Fahrenheit (around 10-19 degrees Celsius), and with the strong winds on the lake, it feels even colder. If you plan to enjoy the lake view or waves from the outer deck, be sure to bring warm clothing; otherwise, you'll have to view the scenery from inside the cabin through the windows.
A tour of Lake Akan takes approximately 85 minutes. Along the way, you can also land on a small island to see marimo, a unique algae found in Lake Akan. The entire boat tour of Lake Akan is very pleasant, so if you have the opportunity to visit, be sure to take a boat trip on the lake.
it was a very lovely boat ride. super enjoyable for my family and I. relaxing and easy :)
The marimo exhibition was the highlight of the cruise. They were very large and cute! Sufficient time was given for photo taking.
Smooth ferry ride on the beautiful lake in summer. Easy to redeem voucher with the staff at the pier.
The main purpose of the Lake Akan cruise was to visit the Marimo Exhibition and Observation Center. So, even though the cruise itself wasn't particularly special, I was very happy to see the marimo. During the summer holidays, many more boat trips are added daily.
The seats on the Lake Akan steam cruise are quite comfortable. It rained heavily during the walk to see the green algae. I am very grateful to the crew for providing each of us with an umbrella.
The Lucky Forest Pier is right next to Akan Yuku no Sato Tsuruga. It's very convenient to exchange your Klook QR code for a boat ticket at the counter.
A very exquisite cruise ship, it will make two stops at the shore of Akan Lake, and then disembark at the visitor center for about 20 minutes to visit the green ball bath.
The boat is very stable and the scenery is beautiful, but if you have other itineraries, you can skip it because the trip is quite long and you will be a little tired looking at the same scenery (there are many sleeping tourists in the cabin)
