What to expect
Must-do on a Kyushu trip: Experience the Yufuin no Mori train, during the best light of the day + the most beautiful scenic route (Yufuin to Oita), super Chii!
- Go to Yufuin in the morning, with ample playtime of 120 minutes + leisurely time, avoiding crowded areas!
Depart from Hakata in the morning and first immerse yourself in the rhythm of Yufuin town. The streets are unhurried, with coffee shops, dessert shops, and general stores slowly unfolding, and the silhouette of Mount Yufu in the distance. There’s no need to rush to attractions here; just strolling around is very comfortable. Next is the soul of this journey – the special Yufuin no Mori train. Wooden carriages, retro windows, and slowly moving mountain scenery; sitting on the train itself is an experience. It’s not just a simple mode of transport, but a part of the journey. In the afternoon, head to Beppu and check out the most iconic “Umi Jigoku” (Sea Hell). The unrealistically blue hot spring water steams, making it one of Kyushu’s most recognizable hot spring landscapes. The last stop is Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. Red bridges, approach paths, omamori (charms), and ume-ga-mochi (plum rice cakes) bring the day’s itinerary to a very Japanese ceremonial close.

She was friendly, well-organized, and shared clear instructions in both Chinese and English. Everything ran smoothly, from the meeting point to each attraction. Daisy was always helpful, and she explained everything we needed to know about the place we were touring and made the trip stress‑free and enjoyable. Highly recommend!
Overall, everything was great. The only thing I think could be improved is having more time in Yufuin; you need more time to explore at a leisurely pace. Also, our tour guide, Eiichi, was excellent. His arrangements were very detailed. The night before, he added us on WeChat to inform us of the itinerary, and during the trip, he recommended various delicious places. At each attraction, he would also send a text message with the places we were going to visit marked on Google Maps. Plus, his Chinese is really good, and he can even speak a few phrases of Shanghainese! 😄 It was a truly enjoyable trip.
We booked a day trip from Fukuoka, Japan because we were traveling with my child and mother. It was worry-free, effort-saving, hassle-free, and cost-effective 🤭. The itinerary was very comfortable. The tour guide, Molly, explained everything very well and was very heartwarming. We also learned a lot of knowledge and about the local culture during the trip. The important thing is that she was actually from the same hometown as me, which I liked even more. The driver, who I heard was the owner of the travel company from Liaoning, was also very helpful. He helped us carry the stroller. My power bank was broken, and he even helped charge my phone. It was a very thoughtful and happy day trip.
Our tour guide this time was Ada-san. Even though we arrived a bit late, she thoughtfully arranged for the elder who gets motion sickness to sit behind the driver, which was very considerate! We also appreciate Ada's helpful advice and reminders for another day trip we were taking the next day. Not only did this help us prepare, but she also went above and beyond by contacting her colleague to inform them, providing truly exceptional service!
This time, our sweet Xinjiang tour guide, Wu Xia, introduced each itinerary in a very soft and gentle voice. She waited for everyone at important turns at every scenic spot, showing great care to ensure no one got lost. The driver drove very steadily, and the tour guide's English was fluent. Klook's tour guide selections have always been very reassuring, and their itinerary planning has consistently been excellent. Every attraction was explained in great detail, and the tour guide was incredibly patient. Five stars is the limit on Klook, but Tour Guide Ohashi-san definitely deserves more than 10 stars! If you're in Fukuoka and want to occasionally join a carefree group tour, you can truly choose this itinerary! (I really need to bow down to Ohashi-san for messing up the meeting time 🧎)
This tour is definitely worth signing up for! Yufuin, Lake Kinrin, Yufuin no Mori, Beppu's Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell), and Dazaifu are all worth visiting! We're grateful to our tour guide, Li Jing, for organizing the itinerary and taking care of every group member. Our family, including elderly members, received very thoughtful care! The Japanese driver drove very smoothly and safely!
Our tour guide, Mr. Daqiao, was wonderful and very enthusiastic. He explained the itinerary, pointed out the best places to shop, eat, and visit, and even kindly helped us take group photos. It was a very pleasant experience.

Thank you. •If the number of participants does not reach the minimum group size, you will be notified of the cancellation by email one day before departure. In the event of extreme weather such as typhoons or heavy snow, we will confirm whether to cancel by 6:00 PM local time the day before departure and notify you by email. Seats and Vehicles •The itinerary is a group tour, and seat allocation follows the principle of first come, first served. If you have special needs, please make a note. We will try our best to arrange it, but the final arrangement is subject to the actual situation on site. •The type of vehicle used will be arranged according to the number of people, and the type of vehicle cannot be specified. - The itinerary does not include personal travel and accident insurance. It is recommended to purchase your own insurance. Outdoor activities and high-risk sports have certain risks. Please register carefully according to your health condition.
- After the itinerary departs, if it is forced to be terminated due to natural disasters or force majeure, the fee will not be refunded, and passengers will have to bear their own return or additional accommodation costs.
- During peak travel times on Japanese red days and weekends, there are often serious traffic jams or early closing of attractions. It is recommended not to book flights, Shinkansen, or dinners for that evening, and to bring your own snacks and portable power bank.
