Kyoto | Small-Group Pottery Experience by a Master Artisan

This pottery and painting class was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan and such a special way to celebrate our anniversary. From the moment we walked in, the two instructors made us feel so welcomed. They are some of the kindest, funniest, and most genuine people we met during our travels. The experience itself was incredible. We got to both make pottery on the wheel and paint a separate ceramic piece, which made the class feel so unique and complete. The instructors were patient, encouraging, and amazing teachers, making everything feel approachable even as beginners. They struck the perfect balance of helping when needed while still letting us be creative and have fun. It ended up being one of our favorite memories from Kyoto. We laughed the entire time and left with pieces that will always remind us of such a meaningful day. If you’re visiting Kyoto and looking for something memorable, authentic, and joyful to do, we cannot recommend this experience enough. Thank you both.
