Kyoto Arashiyama Chopstick Making Workshop

10/10 experience! We booked this for a fun thing to do for my husbands 50th birthday. The team was so fun and helped us through every single step of the way. Our chopsticks turned out beautiful and we now have a valuable and usable souvenir! LOVED THIS! GREAT JOB TEAM!!!

Oh my God, this was literally one of the best experiences I have ever had. Rocky was fantastic; he was funny and super informational. He guided me through the whole process, and his team was just super fantastic. They gave me history, and we just had fun with it. It was worth every second.

we had a very fun time making the chopsticks. the instructors were so nice and helpfull . we had a great conversation while making the chopsticks. recomanded ifcyou are in the area, just stop by and join a workshop.

Here, you can create a wonderful souvenir of your trip to Japan by making your own chopsticks. We had a really cool, approximately one-hour experience, from selecting the wood and learning about the crafting process to finally completing our own chopsticks. During this time, you'll have personal interactions with the very warm and welcoming staff, who also gave us tips for our time in Kyoto. A laser engraving for 1000 Yen made our chopsticks even more personalized. We highly recommend this experience. We had a lot of fun, and it's a memory that will last!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the class, my husband is a carpenter and he was amazed with the knowledge of wood selection the ladies had. My mother in law is hard of hearing and one of the ladies there patiently help her make her chopsticks. We also had fun doing this activity. We will definitely recommend this class to other friends and family that we know.

This was such a fun activity and you create a wonderful souvenir! The staff were kind and helpful and explained the different types of wood you can select as well as the entire chopstick making experience. There are 3 types of wood available in the base Klook price and you can upgrade for 2-6k yen. There is also an engraving option for 1k and they sell chopstick holders. I would definitely recommend this activity as I had a lot of fun and made a nice pair of chopsticks.

This meant we never felt pressured, but rather consistently motivated and supported. There were 10 different types of chopsticks to choose from, so there was something suitable for every taste, even if some options came with a small additional charge. The high-quality materials and the opportunity to design our own individual chopsticks made the workshop a creative and special experience. A clear recommendation for all visitors to Kyoto.

Absolutely worth every penny! We had a wonderful host who guided us step-by-step through the whole process, taking about an hour in total. It was such a fun experience, and paying a little extra to have our names engraved made for the ultimate personalized souvenir. Highly recommend doing this if you’re in Kyoto!
