- Arrive at Shirahige Falls The most important attraction in Biei, it is a rare underground waterfall in Japan. Groundwater seeps out from the cracks in the rocks and pours down from a height of about 30 meters with a strong momentum, merging into the Biei River. Because the waterfall’s water flow pattern resembles a white beard, it is called “Shirahige Falls”. Free tour for 30 minutes

A very good experience. Chartering a car saved a lot of trouble. You can put your luggage in the car and take photos with your camera, saving a lot of effort.

I understand that traffic can be affected by weather, but I felt like the driver (who wasn't really a tour guide, just a driver with no introductions or leading the group) seemed like he just wanted to finish the itinerary quickly and send us back. When we couldn't agree on the itinerary (he actually wanted to change it to go to the Elf Terrace in the morning and the Christmas tree in the evening 🤨), he kept emphasizing how bad the road conditions were and even asked passengers to help watch the road, which made me feel very uneasy and unprofessional. I thought booking this kind of small, refined tour would be better, but the car wasn't comfortable, and he kept trying to change the itinerary, so I wouldn't recommend it overall.

Staying warm and preventing slips is key: Asahikawa’s winter temperatures drop to around -10°C. You need to wear warm gear such as waterproof and anti-slip snow boots, a thick down jacket, a scarf, and gloves. There is a lot of snow at outdoor attractions, so watch your step while walking to avoid slipping. Itinerary pace reminder: Ample time has been reserved for stays at each attraction (100 minutes at Miyae Park & Asahikawa Station including lunch). Please remember the meeting time and arrive at the designated location 5 minutes early to gather, avoiding making your fellow travelers wait. Small group travel tips: The 6-13 person small group offers a comfortable space. If you have carsickness, dietary preferences, or other needs, you can inform the tour leader in advance for coordination. Please keep the inside of the vehicle clean and take your trash with you to be disposed of in the rest area.
