What to expect
Explore Sapporo's hidden food culture with a professional local guide and experience the true way to "eat like a local." Many travelers always stick to the classic "must-eat list," but this trip will take you deep into the heart of the local food scene that locals love after work and on weekends.
Stroll through the city center and sample a variety of delicacies along the way - from casual street stalls to two lively izakayas, and finally a seasonal shime (a "finishing dish" that locals must eat before the end of the night) as the perfect ending. During the trip, the guide will introduce you to the dishes that locals actually order, the stories behind the dishes, and the unwritten rules in izakaya culture: how to read the menu, what is otoshi (seat fee/appetizer), ordering etiquette, how to split the bill, etc. You will also receive a simple and practical sake guide (flavor type, sweetness/acidity, suitable drinking temperature) so that you can confidently order sake throughout Japan.
At the end of the trip, you will not only be satisfied with your meal, but you will also learn how to find good stores on your own during the next trip, use simple standards to identify popular local stores, avoid tourist traps, and order like a professional.
Bring your appetite and curiosity and let's go!

Reviews
We loved this tour! It was the perfect mix of delicious food, local culture, and hidden spots we would never have found by ourselves. We had the best soup curry, played gachapon, ate delicious dango as sweets, and even took a ride at the giant Ferris wheel 🎡✨ Our guide Tsuru explained everything in a fun and easy way and made the experience feel very personal and authentic. It was a wonderful way to experience Sapporo. Thank you Tsuru!
if you’re traveling by yourself, it’s a great opportunity to visit local restaurants/izakaya and meet other travelers!
Tiger was absolutely amazing! We were so lucky to have a private tour, he took us to some delicious food places we would not have found otherwise. The soup curry was absolutely divine. He even personalised the tour for us & joined us afterwards at another bar for more drinks and laughs. We had such a memorable night in Sapporo, cannot wait to come back! 💕
A Personal Taste of Sapporo I joined this food tour alone, and it turned out to be such a rewarding experience. Tieki, my guide, was warm, attentive, and full of local knowledge. He introduced me to authentic Sapporo dishes that I wouldn’t have discovered on my own, and his recommendations made the city’s food culture come alive. Even though it was just me, Tieki made the tour engaging and tailored, so I felt like I had a true insider’s look at Sapporo. By the end, I not only enjoyed delicious food but also felt I understood the city much better. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Sapporo — whether solo or with friends!
Very fun experience. The guide was very friendly. Food was good and interesting :)
I hate to write bad reviews but I feel that people might be misguided by the description/reviews of this tour. This tour did not include an "all you can eat izakaya" or "10+ dishes" or "shime meal" or sake tasting or any nightlife activities as advertised (the day I went). We went to one restaurant (Soul Food Soup Curry) and ate one dish each with one drink. We then had one snack and one coffee. Our guide took us to an aquarium and a park, which was not advertised. If it had been less money and had not been misleading I would not be upset, but it was so different from the description & expensive that I had to say something. I would advice anyone interested in this tour to buy satisfaction insurance because it sounds like it can be wildly different depending on the day. experience: Not as advertised at all instructor: Our guide was very kind.
