What to expect
Tucked away in an alley just three minutes from Shinjuku-gyoemmae Station, Sushi Mitsuyoshi has quickly risen as one of Shinjuku’s most talked-about Edomae sushi destinations. Mitsuyoshi is also known for its drinks: an impressive lineup of sake, including rare bottles on a “hidden menu,” as well as premium shochu, whiskey, and champagne for special occasions. Reviews
I can not look at sushi the same anywhere else, especially now that I'm going back to South Africa. All the dishes were so fresh and unique - every dish/sushi type was bursting with flavour. Such a beautiful and wonderful experience, it was truely worth every cent. I would recommend doing the sushi and sake experience together - it looked really exclusive, wish I signed up for that combo instead but I was still very happy with the overall experience.
Absolutely outstanding omakase experience. The quality of the sushi was exceptional, and every course was beautifully prepared and incredibly delicious. The ingredients were fresh, perfectly balanced, and showcased the chef’s remarkable skill. What impressed us the most was the hospitality. Due to an unusual incident on the train, we arrived almost one hour late for our reservation. Despite this, the staff welcomed us with kindness and reassured us that we could still enjoy the full experience. The chef even stayed later to prepare and serve our meal without making us feel rushed at all. The atmosphere was elegant and intimate, and the level of service was truly above and beyond. We are extremely grateful for their understanding and dedication. This was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had, and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tokyo. Five stars in every category!
The atmosphere is nice and the chef is accommodating. It is a lot of sashimi/nigiri so avoid if that’s not your thing. The most concerning is that they are a little pushy with making you purchase drinks and at the end, they offer a green tea.. they make you think it is complimentary but it’s not and it will be added to your bill. I am okay to pay but I didn’t order it and doing it like this is sleazy.
