Review for: Beppu Yufuin Day Trip

I absolutely loved this bus tour and appreciated the different places we traveled. Our tour guide, Shin (Seven), was kind, thoughtful, and shared interesting information along the way. I found this tour to be the best value for our money since many tour companies charge much more for the same tour.

Our trip to Northern Kyushu was an experience where every attraction offered a unique atmosphere, allowing us to pack "healing, surprise, relaxation, and beautiful scenery" into our memories. Our first stop was Nyoirin-ji Temple, where the abundance of frog decorations was truly unforgettable. I initially thought it was just an ordinary temple, but upon entering, I discovered charming and distinctive frogs everywhere, adding a playful touch to the entire worship process. We happened to visit during the wind chime festival, and listening to the gentle tinkling of the chimes while praying was incredibly calming and made for unique photo opportunities. Seeing so many "welcoming frogs" made us eager to find the next one, like a treasure hunt. Our second stop, Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell), offered a completely different kind of awe. The blue hot spring pool was even more vibrant than I imagined, and with the rising steam, it truly looked like a scene from an animated film. The hot spring water, after steaming from the geyser, turned into tiny droplets that gently misted our faces, which was a unique and delightful surprise. I wondered if it had any beautifying effects. It was my first time seeing a natural hot spring with such a color, and I found it absolutely magical. The air was filled with the scent of the hot springs, and you could truly feel the power of nature. We also tried a sip of the "rejuvenating" hot spring water, which was salty and quite distinctive. Besides observing the "hell" hot springs, the hot spring steamed eggs and "hell" pudding are also worth trying. Our third stop was the Yufudake trailhead, where the vast, lush green meadows were incredibly relaxing. The weather was perfect, making it ideal for children to run and play. I highly recommend bringing sunscreen, as the area is very open with not many trees for shade. At our fourth stop, Yufuin, the overall pace completely slowed down. Although it was a holiday and quite crowded, it didn't dampen our spirits. The streets had a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere, and strolling around was very calming. The scenery around Kinrin Lake was beautiful, and the air felt particularly refreshing. Along the way, there were many unique shops, delicious food, and desserts, making it easy to lose track of time. This isn't a bustling or thrilling attraction, but rather a place that encourages you to slow down and truly savor the warmth of your journey. The Floral Village was great for photos, but it was very crowded. You had to find the right angle and wait for the crowds to clear to get a shot without people. The main attraction, Kinrin Lake, isn't large, but the scenery is beautiful. Walking along the lake, you can see reflections on the water, creating a dreamy and romantic atmosphere. The gentle breeze combined with the peaceful ambiance truly liberated our minds. Gazing at the lake and mountain views made it worthwhile to pause and have a quiet conversation with ourselves. What made this trip so wonderful was that each attraction offered a completely different experience. The charming healing at Nyoirin-ji Temple, the relaxed tranquility of Yufuin, and the natural wonder of Umi Jigoku made the entire journey rich and invigorating, not tiring. The most amazing thing about travel is probably how what starts as simply sightseeing, taking photos, and checking in, ends up recharging your spirit as well. Many thanks to our tour guide, Brother Zhang Chao, for introducing the attractions, helping us take group photos, and even bringing his own exclusive stamps – he's truly detail-oriented and made the trip so worthwhile! Also, a big thank you to our driver (vehicle number 5158) for his smooth driving. We were very comfortable resting in the car. We had the same driver for a tour the day before, what a coincidence! The next time we visit Fukuoka, we'll definitely join another day tour, and we hope to see him again.

we had a wonderful time on this trip. The bus was comfortable and the guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. the guide made a descion to skip the mountain side trail since it was not blooming so it would be just some plain or half dead flowers to look at. she added the time to the village which created almost a 3 hour stop there. we had plenty of time at each stop to see the locations and use the restrooms, and shop. Definitely a way to see more remote portions of Japan. would love to go back to Beppu for a longer stay. if you would like to see the countryside of gains, definitely take this trip.

This day trip to Yufuin was fantastic! A special thank you to our guide, Kevin. Guide Performance: Kevin is truly humorous and full of enthusiasm. His explanations throughout the trip were lively and interesting, never boring. He also proactively took beautiful photos for everyone and catered to the needs of each member of the group, making the trip even better! Itinerary: Although the itinerary felt a little rushed due to the many attractions, the guide managed the time very well. We got to see all the attractions on the list, and none of the key attractions were missed. Summary: If you want to efficiently explore Yufuin in a limited amount of time, you can't go wrong with this trip. Getting Kevin as your guide is even better luck! We even saw a rainbow 🌈. Highly recommended!

Kevin was an incredibly energetic and upbeat tour guide - always smiling and ready to answer all our questions. He gave clear directions on where we were headed next and exactly when we needed to get back, which kept everything running smoothly. His recommendations were spot-on too - especially the wagyu bowl I had in Yufuin, which was a definite highlight! Overall, it was a fantastic experience exploring the countryside with someone so knowledgeable and full of positive energy. Thank you, Kevin!

Our tour guide, Lily, was incredibly nice! She always communicated meeting points in advance and let us know where restrooms were located. She also shared fascinating historical facts and a list of delicious local foods. She was very patient in answering all our questions and was just a wonderful person. We learned so much about Japan, and all my friends thoroughly enjoyed the trip! The only downside was the weather; it rained constantly, which was a bit of a shame.

We departed at 8:30 AM and returned to Hakata at 5:30 PM. The driver was excellent! Our tour guide, Hedy, had a wonderful service attitude, switched between English and Chinese, and proactively helped us take photos. However, the time spent in Yufuin was too short, only 2 hours, which wasn't enough to explore, as eating alone took an hour. For Beppu Hells, visiting "Umi Jigoku" (Sea Hell) is sufficient, as the others are quite similar.

Our tour guide, Li Jing, took care of everyone like a mother. Having lived in Japan for a long time, she also shared Japanese customs with us. Furthermore, she was incredibly patient. When I accidentally spilled a drink in the car, she was worried I'd be uncomfortable, so she even used her own clothes to cushion the car seat. I'm very grateful. Also, today's attractions were all excellent. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to relax but still have fun!
