Yufuin no Mori Kyushu Yufuin & Special Train Experience & Umi Jigoku & Dazaifu One-Day Tour (Chinese and English Guide)

This Yufuin day trip was absolutely wonderful and very well organized. Everything was perfectly punctual, and the itinerary was arranged in such a way that we had enough time at each spot to explore comfortably without feeling rushed. A special mention to Mr. Alex — he was very friendly and explained everything in a very detailed and clear manner, which made the experience even better. Overall, a smooth, enjoyable, and memorable experience. Highly recommend this tour to everyone!

Late review for a tour taken on 19 April 2026. The weather was rainy, but the trip was still enjoyable overall. This package offers a longer stay in Yufuin and includes a train experience—great if you appreciate classic locomotives. The visit to the two Beppu Hells felt a bit rushed, with just enough time for a quick footbath and a short walk around before heading off to Dazaifu. At Dazaifu, the temple stop was brief before moving on to explore the walking street. Special mention to our guide, Ada-san, professional, attentive, and very observant. She even recognized me the next day when I joined another tour group!

our guide, Daisy, was very organized and attentive. she had constant contact with our group and had clear instructions before every stop. she was very accommodating and patient ♥️just to note - the itinerary was a bit tight. 2.5 hours at yufuin, 40 minutes at beppu and 1hr at dazaifu. but overall, we thoroughly enjoyed this tour. :)

Yufuin Village was absolutely beautiful and had so many shops and things to explore, especially along the alley leading to Yufuin Station. Our softspoken guide Daisy was eloquent in both English and Mandarin to the group, she took great care to provide complete information, watsapp us in advance, provide guide to places to eat. The bus transport, advance tickets purchased by guide, save us tremendous time vs trying to DIY yourself. The price point is also worth it and affordable. The time given for each place or activity is sufficient. It takes the stress out and that is most important to have a memorable experience in Kyushu.

It would be better if we could skip the "Sea Hell" (Umi Jigoku) and spend more time at Dazaifu. The Yufuin no Mori train experience was great, but the tour guide didn't tell us we could go to the dining car to get a commemorative stamp. We only found out from another tour group's guide, and I hope this can be improved. Also, there was no introduction to the attractions along the way; the guide was only responsible for announcing meeting times and locations and counting heads. If you want to learn more or spend more time at a particular spot, I recommend going on your own.

We were here for three days, and it rained heavily for all three. Finally, on the fourth day, the rain stopped, and with this itinerary, the weather was cool. Yufuin was beautiful, and the Owl Museum was incredibly therapeutic! We also successfully boarded the Yufuin no Mori train, and the scenery along the way was stunning! The "Hell" hot springs were not hellish at all; they were also breathtakingly beautiful! Finally, we arrived at Dazaifu. Although it was a bit late and the shops were starting to close, we still managed to get some Umegae Mochi. Because there were many attractions, the stop at each location wasn't long, but it was perfect for us since we didn't want to worry about transportation. Our guide, Ohashi-san, was very charming and provided detailed explanations.

Our tour guide, Kelvin, was very enthusiastic and kept everyone in high spirits throughout the trip, which made for a pleasant experience. Yufuin was full of delicious food and fun activities, and the Yufuin no Mori train experience was truly special. Although Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell) was small, it offered great photo opportunities. Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine was very relaxing and filled with the scent of phytoncides. We are very grateful for Kelvin's guidance and the safe driving by our driver. Even at the end of the trip, both of them were still full of energy and joy, which was wonderful!

This was a truly perfect one-day tour of Kyushu! The itinerary was incredibly smooth, and every attraction, from Nanzoin Temple and Dazaifu to Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell), left a lasting impression. The timing at each stop was just right. A special shout-out to our guide, Jimmy-san! He was exceptionally professional and friendly, providing lively and engaging commentary throughout the trip. He also took great care of every group member's needs, making the entire journey relaxing and enjoyable. This tour definitely deserves five stars, and I would love to join again on my next visit!

The Yufuin, Umi Jigoku, and Dazaifu day tour was very well-planned overall. When we arrived in Yufuin in the morning, shops were just starting to open, so there weren't many people, and we could easily buy popular snacks, making for a very pleasant stroll. On the way back, we even got to ride a section of the Yufuin no Mori train, which is usually very difficult to book tickets for, and it felt like a very special experience! I especially want to commend our tour guide, Yanagi-san (Jimmy)! He is my favorite guide from all the day tours I've taken. He is enthusiastic, humorous, and attentive, explaining things vividly and clearly, and he's also very good at looking after the needs of different group members. When we were on the train, he constantly reminded everyone to check their belongings and the disembarkation time. There were some group members with babies and strollers, and he always kept an eye out and proactively offered help, which was truly very thoughtful. I was traveling alone, and I was somewhat worried about not keeping up with the itinerary or encountering unexpected situations. However, throughout the trip, Yanagi-san's reminders and care made me feel very secure, allowing me to relax and enjoy the journey. The itinerary itself was already rich, but I believe what truly made this trip "100 points" was meeting Yanagi-san! I am very grateful for his dedication and care, and I would love to join a tour led by him again next time! 👏🏻
