* Step into the mythical secret realms of Aso and Takachiho in Kyushu, as if traveling through a world of manga and ancient legends ✨⛰️

  • The first stop is Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine, where you can stroll along the pilgrimage path paved with over a hundred lanterns, each step feeling like entering a fantastical scene. This shrine enshrines Izanagi-no-Mikoto, Izanami-no-Mikoto, and Ishikumi-no-Daimyojin. The Udo-iwa rock within the shrine stands 10 meters tall, symbolizing courage and good fortune 💫, while the sacred tree Nagi signifies a harmonious marriage and successful career 🌿, attracting many people to pray 🙏.
  • Cherry Blossom Season Limited Itinerary (expected late March to early April, all times subject to actual weather conditions) Tsukimawari Park 100 Cherry Trees: Famous for approximately 100 cherry trees, when spring arrives and the cherry blossoms bloom, the pink sea of flowers and the magnificent backdrop of the Aso Five Peaks create a stunning view, making it an excellent spot for cherry blossom viewing and photography 🌸. Strolling through the open, grassland-like park, you can also experience the unique tranquility and vastness of the Aso Plateau.
  • Arrive at Takachiho Gorge (Warm reminder: The entire tour takes approximately 80 minutes, including walking through the gorge and an uphill return journey, with a complimentary shuttle bus for convenience). Stroll along the gentle path, admiring the steep cliffs and clear streams. Here you’ll find the Manai Falls, one of Japan’s Top 100 Waterfalls, the Oni-no-Chikaraishi (Demon’s Power Stone), and three bridges spanning the valley; the 70-meter-high Sennin-no-Byobu-iwa (Hermit’s Folding Screen Rock) boasts magnificent columnar joints. In autumn, the red leaves reflect in the clear water, and you can take a rowboat to get a closer look at the waterfall, experiencing the mythical and spectacular scenery of Kyushu’s gorge.
  • Next, head to Amano Iwato Shrine and Amanoyasukawara, to experience the origin of Japanese mythology. Amano Iwato Shrine enshrines Amaterasu Omikami, and the cave is a sacred place in mythology, where the story of Amaterasu Omikami hiding in Amano Iwato and the eight million gods gathering at Amanoyasukawara unfolded; Amanoyasukawara is an excellent place for stacking stones to make wishes, with each stone tower carrying the wishes of visitors 🪨✨. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our tour to Takachiho Gorge, Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine, Amanoiwato Shrine, and Amanoyasukawara was absolutely fantastic! The itinerary was well-organized, giving us enough time to enjoy each destination without feeling rushed. A special thank you to our wonderful tour guide, Ms. Cico, who was friendly, professional, and very attentive throughout the trip. She shared interesting stories and helpful information about each location, making the experience even more meaningful. One thoughtful touch that really stood out was that every guest received a complimentary box of delicious manju, which was a pleasant surprise. We also appreciated the free shuttle bus provided to take us up to Takachiho Gorge, saving us from the uphill walk and making the visit much more comfortable. Overall, everything was well-planned, convenient, and enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour. Thank you, Ms. Cico, for making it such a memorable day!

Even though it was raining, the overall itinerary was very well managed. We had a mini-bus with two guides: Zhu Zhu, who handled Chinese and Korean, and another male guide who provided explanations and commentary in fluent English. This was my first time on a one-day tour, and I was surprised that the guides even walked with us. Zhu Zhu is an excellent guide; she provided detailed information about restrooms and lunch options and consistently ensured the group stayed together and that everyone was accounted for. The entire trip was very enriching. Although the schedule was a bit tight, there was still enough time even for those who love taking photos. We even received small gifts at the end! Since I was staying in Takachiho, I opted out of the return trip, and Zhu Zhu was very enthusiastic in discussing my drop-off location. I'm so glad I joined this one-day tour, and I highly recommend it!

Public transportation to Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine isn't very convenient, so I hadn't been there before. I was very happy to find a day tour on KLOOK! It saved a lot of time and was very worry-free. I was finally able to visit the "Hotarubi no Mori e" (To the Forest of Firefly Lights) pilgrimage site. The stone lanterns are covered in moss and are very spiritual. Takachiho Gorge goes without saying; I was lucky to encounter a sunny day, and the sunlight refracted, making the water a blue-green color, which was very beautiful! Our guide, Li, was very professional and very friendly. This is the second time I've booked a GOGODAY day tour, and every experience has been great. I hope they can launch more routes to attractions that are difficult to reach, such as Kora Grand Shrine, etc.

Review for: Buy one get one free (meeting point collection)

I think this one-day tour was fantastic. Not only was the buy-one-get-one-free deal incredibly good value, but they also gave us souvenirs at the end. What I really appreciated most was not having to worry about transportation. Our tour guide was also very professional, and his English was excellent. We had foreign tourists in our group, and the guide could switch from Chinese to English instantly. His English was very pleasant to listen to. The only downside was that the flowing noodle area was closed due to an earthquake or something similar, so we didn't get to try the flowing noodles, which was a bit of a shame. Also, some group members went boating and were late, but the guide waited for them.

Thanks to tour guide Xiao Guo, I felt very secure and enjoyed every part of the itinerary under his guidance. I'm also grateful that this tour arranged a shuttle bus from the boat dock back to the tour bus. However, I do have some suggestions for improvement. I booked this tour through Klook and checked the itinerary many times before departure, but I was very unsure about when lunch would be. I suggest making this clearer. For example, based on the actual itinerary we followed, you could suggest lunch times as: 1. During the drive between Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine and Takachiho Gorge (lunch needs to be self-provided). 2. For those who don't take the boat, you can eat at Takachiho Gorge. 3. For those who do take the boat, you can eat along the way to Amano Iwato Shrine. Personally, I felt the itinerary was a bit rushed. It was a shame not to be able to walk up to the top of Kumano Shrine. And for me, having taken the boat in Takachiho Gorge, it was also a pity not to have the chance to properly enjoy the scenery along the way, but this is probably just a personal preference. Still, I'm very grateful to you all; Takachiho Gorge is truly beautiful.☺️

Our tour guide, Xiao Zheng, was excellent. Although there were some issues with the seating hardware on the bus, they were handled flexibly. The shrine scenery was lovely. Please note that the tour does not include the boat ride at Takachiho Gorge (it's not possible to pay for it yourself on the day, as tickets need to be booked in advance; this is not an issue with the travel agency, just for your information). Additionally, the travel time for the itinerary is long, and the schedule is packed, so please consider this when planning your trip.

Review for: Early Bird Exclusive - Meeting Point (Chinese Guide) (Use discount code for savings)

This was an easy way to see some beautiful shrines and experience Takachiho Gorge without a car/driving in Japan. The itinerary allows for visiting things that are remote/less accessible otherwise (mountain roads, rural shrines) which is a plus if you don’t want the hassle of self-drive. Don’t expect a very slow, relaxed pace with lots of downtime — you’ll see a lot, but it’s somewhat brisk. If you want the boat ride at Takachiho, check ahead if you can book it and account for the time. The bus transport between Fukuoka and Miyazaki region (Takachiho) is air-conditioned and comfortable. Kudos to driver for giving us a smooth ride. Our tour guide Kaku-san, was excellent during the activities. He even gave us a complimentary gift (manju snack) at the end of the trip c/o the company.

This tour is well-organized and allows you to visit three attractions that are difficult to reach by public transport. Tiananogahara was unexpectedly beautiful; we visited on a sunny day. However, it rained when we went to Takachiho Gorge, and the water wasn't as green as we expected. Boat rides were also canceled. It seems we didn't miss out on much by not getting boat tickets. Our guide, Helen, was very friendly and received praise from our entire family. The only suggestion for improvement is to allow more time at Takachiho Gorge. We didn't have time to explore the shopping street near the final waterfall; we had to rush back. Overall, we were very satisfied!

Overall, I was quite satisfied with the trip. After all, if I were driving myself, it would be over 350 kilometers round trip. Although we had bad luck with the weather, our guide, Ms. Nanami, was still very dedicated and responsible, providing rain gear to guests who didn't bring any. For those who are afraid of getting hungry, it's best to bring some snacks for lunch. Among these attractions, only Takachiho Gorge has more food options, but the free time there is limited. On the way to Amano Iwato Shrine, there's only one simple restaurant offering a few types of subs and yakisoba.

Thank you to our tour guide, Jyo (Xiao Xu)! The two of us had a wonderful time on the day trip, visiting the shrine and Takachiho Gorge. Our favorite part was definitely boating in the gorge!
