Reviews
Our tour guide, Thomas, was fantastic! The overall itinerary was smooth, and he even provided us with videos of the scenery, which was so thoughtful and a nice bonus, haha. He also gave detailed explanations of the sights during the drive, including recent events like the Kumamoto earthquake, so it was never boring! I would definitely join another tour if I have the chance! Mount Aso Grassland (Kusasenri) is beautiful and great for photos, but it's very windy, so don't spend too much time shopping, or it will cut into your time for taking pictures of the grassland and volcano! The boat ride was also a lot of fun and a must-try, though the ticket is a bit pricey. Even though they said it was a 15-minute ride, it was actually difficult to control the boat, and since we weren't very good at it, we ended up rowing for 30 minutes, haha, and they didn't charge us extra! Since it's a long journey, I recommend wearing comfortable shoes.
Throwback review from a trip on 18April26. This was one of the longer-duration packages to Takachiho Gorge, which included boat rowing and lunch. Although we couldn’t visit Mt. Aso, the guide still brought us near the crater area for photo opportunities. He also extended our time at Kusasenri and recommended some must-try local food. A big shout-out to our guide, Sun Nan, who was professional, attentive, and shared plenty of great tips on what to do and eat throughout the trip.
A really fun day, from taking the boats at Takachiho Gorge to seeing Mt Aso. They give you plenty of time at each stop to enjoy your day, the lunch was amazing, it was so much food. They transfer back to the buses, so your able to spend more time at Mt Aso. At Mt Aso you can walk around a little track on a horse, and also get some great pictures. Kaku was a great guide, and full of information!
We were lucky to have great weather today for boating at Takachiho Gorge, and we took many beautiful photos and videos. I highly recommend this attraction; it's fun and enjoyable. I'm grateful for our tour guide Shina's warm and friendly service; she was very willing to assist and take care of the group, and she clearly explained the itinerary. I chose the option with boating but without meals, which allowed me to fully enjoy the boating and scenery. I also met some great Taiwanese companions on the boat! Although we didn't make it to Mount Aso, the volcano will always be there, so I'm sure there will be another opportunity in the future. The endless green of Kusasenri was beautiful. It was a very fulfilling day!
I joined the tour on July 21, and it was an amazing experience. Our tour guide, Ms. Li (香蓉G202), was incredibly helpful throughout the entire trip and always made sure every guest was well taken care of. I was especially impressed by her ability to switch seamlessly between Chinese, Korean, and Japanese—it was truly impressive. Since I don't eat beef, she kindly helped arrange an alternative lunch for me. She also assisted in coordinating boat-sharing with other guests for the rowing activity, which I really appreciated. There were travelers from all over the world on this tour, making the experience even more enjoyable and memorable. The entire itinerary was well organized, and everything went smoothly. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kyushu. I can't wait to come back to Kyushu again!
I had an amazing experience on the Miyazaki and Kumamoto Nature & Culture Tour! The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and every destination showcased the beauty of Japan’s nature, history, and culture. A special thanks to our tour guide, Helen, who was exceptional throughout the trip. She is highly fluent in both English and Mandarin, making the tour informative and enjoyable for everyone. Helen was patient in explaining the history and significance of each location, always ensuring that the group stayed safe and together. She even went the extra mile by sharing fascinating Japanese myths and legends related to the places we visited, which made the experience even more memorable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area. Helen truly deserves a five-star rating for her professionalism, knowledge, and dedication! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Everything was exactly as described in the itinerary, and I got to experience everything I hoped for, especially the boat ride—it was incredible! The food was delicious and more than enough to fill you up. I also appreciated the email sent the day before the trip, with all the detailed info like car numbers and tour guide names. Special shoutout to Lina, our tour guide—she was truly fantastic! As a solo traveler, I felt super welcomed and included, and she made the day even more memorable. Lina definitely made this trip one of the best experiences I've had. Highly recommend!
Writing It was a truly wonderful travel experience. The scenery was beautiful, and the lunch was especially impressive. We also had the chance to stop by some interesting shops along the way. Our tour guide, Sun Nan, took excellent care of everyone in the group. They were very attentive, friendly, and always ready to help—especially with taking photos for us, which made the experience even more memorable. Thank you for such a fantastic tour experience.
Mr. sun our guide was excellent. he was informative helpful kind. boat ride in gorge was amazing although a bit chaotic as boats had to turn around and return to starting place. lunch was amazing. gorge trip was physically demanding up and down steps but views breathtaking. all in all a good trip and highly recommended. volcano trip was amazing too. but start of trip was a bit chaotic at Lawson oriental hotel as we have to look for tour guide in large crowd. perhaps giving us the number and name of guide with a sign would be better as we had to ask many Gogo guides before finding right one
The scenery at Mount Aso, Kusasenri, and Takachiho Gorge is beautiful, making for an unforgettable trip. Our guide, Yang Zhou, was friendly and energetic, meticulously introducing the attractions along the way. He also shared personal stories, travel experiences, and recommendations, enriching the entire journey. The itinerary was well-planned, and transportation connections were convenient, making it perfect for travelers who want to enjoy natural landscapes with ease. Highly recommended!
