Nagoya Grand Sumo Tournament Viewing Tour with Tickets

I struck out on getting tickets through the sumo official website and through buysumotickets.com. The tickets through Klook might have been overpriced, but we’re guaranteed and came with a tour guide that explained the history of sumo, showed us around the arena and provided us with commentary during the sumo matches through an earpiece (optional for you to listen to during the event). So a big shout out to our tour guide Maki as she was awesome!

I had a great experience. Yoshi, our guide, was so helpful in explaining the background and rules of the tournament. Highly recommend this event.

Yoko was a great tour guide! She is clearly passionate about the sport of Sumo and it shows through her enthusiasm of explaining the sport, wrestlers and arena information. Watching sumo with Yoko was such a treat and I find myself befoming a fan of sumo wrestling also!!

Though we Don't really like being in Group experiences, and we thought it was going to be too long, we really enjoyed the experience, and you appreciate and understand more when a Guide tells you about the history, rule games and different aspects of the players. Has a wonderful time on this trip to the Grand Tournament. Azuko and Yoshi were very organized and informative. We were in great hands all day. Would definitely recommend to someone to do this group tour and see some sumo wrestling.

The itinerary was arranged by a Japanese tour guide, who is also very knowledgeable about sumo wrestling. During the process, he could answer questions one by one about which player he was, and he could also tell the previous rankings of the main players. It is very worth visiting. You can go backstage to see the sumo wrestlers up close, or you can take photos of the sumo wrestlers in the designated fan area outside. If you are lucky, you can also meet them in the dining area.
