Borneo Kawa Mangrove Wildlife Cruise & Fireflies Spectacle

Our tour guide, Xiao Chen, was very friendly and explained everything clearly. During the journey, he taught us a lot about the ecosystem of the Kawa mangroves and also helped us take many photos. He thoughtfully prepared raincoats and binoculars for us, in case we got wet and to help us see the gibbons/kingfishers more clearly. He even treated us to coconut pudding, which was very hospitable. It was truly a great experience.

The experience exceeded our expectations! Our guide, Xiao Chen, was excellent, providing clear explanations and managing the time perfectly at each stop. This ensured we avoided crowds throughout the tour. He also helped us take photos, and we were lucky enough to see proboscis monkeys and kingfishers, witness the most beautiful sunset, and lots of fireflies. Overall, we were extremely satisfied and highly recommend this tour!

First of all, the driver was very pleasant. Please contact me when you come to Korea. Let's eat together. Sunset and Batfly Blue Mosque were both good. I highly recommend it, but please keep in mind that the travel time takes 2 hours one way.

Half of the activities listed in the tour were not done. Despite the tour being advertised as having Chinese/ENGLISH/Malay speaking guides, 99% of the commentary was in Chinese, so we couldn’t understand anything. The only view of the mosque was from across the street, and we didn’t see the Tun Mustapha Tower due to “lack of time.” Activities like henna tattoos, blowpipe, and aerial swings were merely decor and were not actually done. If you want to see monkeys up close, choose another tour; ours kept a huge distance while other boats got much closer.

The tour guide is actually quite nice when we are on the mini van, but there is completely zero guide during the boat trip in the Mangrove. Our guide even went on to another boat. And our boat is extremely crowded. We have 6ppl with us and we are all separated as there are also some rude tourmate.
