I had a good stay in Grids Tokyo. It’s tidy and clean and a short walk to train station and has nearby restos. My only comment is, other fellow travelers does not have respect in space and privacy. They were noisy and I was uncomfortable for 2 nights. I did not bother to complain to hotel staff cause I was so tired during my stay. Hence, if you’re into a shared space and saving money, then Grids is a good choice to stay in Ueno area.

Relatively clean facilities overall. Space is a little small so take note of that. Bathroom slippers are provided free of charge but everything else has a charge (towels, dental kits, shavers, laundry), so take note of that. Also the safe is small and luggage cannot be stored outside the room overnight. Pretty convenient location, within 5 min walk of Ueno station which is pretty well connected, and also near Ueno park. There’s events held by the hostel as well although I didn’t manage to attend any due to my schedule. Also for laundry detergent is not provided so take note of that. Very affordable place to stay if all you need is a bed and clean facilities.

The hotel's location is good, only walk 2 min to the station & Family Mart. There are also restaurants near by. Close to Ueno Ameyoko Shopping Centre, Ueno Zoo, Park & Museums. The hotel's room is okay, but you can't open all the luggage. The toilet, wash room & bathroom are clean.

The hotel’s location is excellent—just a short, easy walk from Ueno Station, one of Tokyo’s major railway hubs. Even traveling alone with luggage, I had no trouble finding my way thanks to the smooth, well-maintained roads. It’s also conveniently close to countless restaurants, convenience stores, and the lively Ameyoko Shopping Street, making it perfect for exploring the area on foot. I really appreciate that all female rooms are located on a dedicated floor, fully separated from the male floors, which adds an extra sense of comfort and privacy. The security system is also reliable: access is controlled by key cards, allowing guests to enter only their assigned floor and the common areas. Overall, it felt safe, convenient, and thoughtfully designed for all types of travelers.

Perfect location and budget-friendly stay. I’d love to stay here again! It’s also super accessible — just a short walk to nearby convenience stores, and close to both the Skyliner and JR Ueno.

overall, my family enjoyed the whole stay. even if the room was small, everything that u need, smart space and storage was well thought of. will definitely stay there again. location was also near everything.

location is 5/5 staff at the reception was very nice and helpful. but one of the staffs at the cafe was not accomodating

It's very close to ueno station. The security is high. There's no Food allowed in the room but there's cafeteria at the lobby for 24h.
