Travel Essentials for your VTL Holiday
With the opening of the
Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTL), we can finally head overseas again! Different destinations do have specific visitation rules like proof of vaccination, negative COVID-19 tests and more. Here are the new essentials everyone should pack before travelling:

1. Pre-Departure PCR Test Singapore
Depending on the country you are travelling to, a Pre-Departure
Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Test within 48/72 hours of your scheduled flight overseas might be required. Countries that may require a pre-departure PCR include Cambodia, Indonesia,
Malaysia (via Air),
South Korea, and
Thailand.
This requirement varies depending on the country you are visiting, and you can find the latest requirements
here.

You should obtain a PCR test result certificate in English stating the following:
Traveller’s name, and at least one other personal identifier such as the date of birth or passport number
Negative COVID-19 PCR test result
Date and time when the COVID-19 PCR test was taken
Name of the testing institution conducting the COVID-19 PCR test
#KlookTip: Do note that before you return to Singapore, you are required to undergo a pre-departure PCR test or professionally-administered Antigen Rapid Test (ART) within 2 days before departure for Singapore. You must obtain a test result certificate for verification during check-in for your flight back to Singapore and immigration clearance at Changi Airport. These tests are also available in many countries on Klook.

3. Travel Insurance
Certain countries like Malaysia, Thailand, and South Korea do require travellers to have travel insurance that covers COVID-19 related medical/treatment expenses and hospitalisation costs.
While this requirement is not compulsory for all VTL countries, it is highly recommended that you have one to enjoy a worry-free vacation. The Klook x Chubb Travel Insurance provides COVID-19 coverage of up to S$150,000 for overseas hospitalisation and medical costs.
4. COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
You must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and have a vaccination certificate that can be digitally verified if you wish to travel quarantine free on the VTL. You will be considered fully vaccinated 14 days after you have received the full regimen of Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty, Moderna or other WHO approved vaccines.
#KlookTip: It is highly recommended that you have it printed and have the hardcopy with you at all times for easy access overseas.
5. International Driver’s Permit

International Driving Permit (IDP) when you’re driving in certain cities?

7. WiFi & SIM Card
If you don’t want to get the shock of your life upon returning from your trip to find out you chalked up insane roaming bills while showing off your holiday on Instagram, we suggest getting a WiFi device or a SIM Card.
We recommend getting a SIM Card for the flexibility of having calling credits in cases of emergency. If you’re travelling in a group, sharing a WiFi device might be a more cost-effective option!
