The latest South Korea travel requirements for Singaporeans travelling to Korea!

Planning a trip to South Korea? 🇰🇷 Before you go, make sure you’re up to date with the latest travel requirements for Singaporeans! From visa applications to arrival procedures, here’s everything you need to know to ensure a smooth and hassle-free journey.
South Korea has extended the exemption from having to apply for electronic travel authorisation (ETA) for nationals of 22 countries and regions, including Singapore, for one year until Dec 31, 2025. (The Straits Times)
In February 2025, it also announced that there will now be new online arrival cards for foreigners. You can now submit your online arrival card up to 3 days before you land in Korea instead of filling up paper forms at the airport.

    Pre-Departure from Singapore

Here's a checklist of all the important documents you’ll need for your trip:
    • Passport with at least 6 months of validity
    • K-ETA (To apply at least 24 hours before your flight departure)
    • Submit E-Arrival card up to 3 days before arrival in Korea
    • Travel Insurance (Not a requirement for entry into South Korea but highly recommended to have on hand)

    1. Apply for a K-ETA

This is the electronic travel visa that you would have to apply for to visit South Korea. It will cost you 10,000krw (~S$9) and you can apply for it here. Do note that you would need to apply for your K-ETA at least 24 hours before your flight to South Korea.
The K-ETA is valid for multiple entries over three years using the same passport.

    2. Fill in the Online E-Arrival Card

The South Korean government announced on 24 Feb 2025 that visitors entering the country can now submit online arrival cards up to three days in advance instead of filling out paper arrival cards upon landing.
Both paper and online arrival cards will be accepted until the end of 2025 to minimise confusion in the early stages of the new system.

How to submit South Korea E-Arrival Card?

    • Go to this website www.e-arrivalcard.go.kr
    • Accept the terms and conditions on the e-arrival website
    • Upload a photo of your passport bio-page
    • Enter your travel information (Such as date of arrival, flight number, contact information etc.)
    • Submit declaration form
    • Once you have completed all of the steps above, you will be able to download the completed E-Arrival card

When to submit E-Arrival Card for Korea?

Submit it up to 72 hours before arriving in Korea. If you do not arrive in Korea within 72 hours, your E-Arrival card will expire and you will not be able to use it.

Who needs to submit E-Arrival Card?

Arrival cards are required for all foreign nationals visiting South Korea for 90 days or less. For minors under the age of 14, a family member or guardian should submit the card on their behalf.

Do I need to pay for E-Arrival Card?

No, the E-Arrival card service is free.

    3. Get your SIM card

Now, this is one travel essential that we’ll definitely need no matter the situation. I would recommend getting an e-SIM, which can be activated via scanning a QR code sent to you through email!

    4. Pre-book your transport to your accommodation

For a truly fuss-free experience, I would recommend pre-booking a private hire car to get you straight from the airport to your accommodation.

Or if you're looking for a speedy way from Incheon Airport to Seoul, you can take the AREX Incheon Express Train that goes nonstop between Incheon International Airport and Seoul Station. You'll get from the airport to downtown Seoul in 43 minutes!
Planning to visit Jeju Island? Or perhaps you're going on a Netflix-inspired road trip throughout South Korea? Then renting a car is the way to go!

    5. Complete SG Arrival Card

Complete the SG Arrival Card up to 72 hours before departure for Singapore. Under the current Vaccinated Travel Framework, testing for fully-vaccinated travellers is no longer required to return to Singapore.
