    NIGHT SAFARI GUIDE COVER

    Your wild Night Safari adventure

When nightfall arrives, the nocturnal creatures at the Singapore Night Safari come alive. At the world’s first nocturnal zoo, you’ll be able to find over 2,500 different creatures, from marsupials to wildcats. Here’s what to expect at the Night Safari!

    Getting your Night Safari Tickets

You can purchase your Night Safari Ticket online on Klook. Onsite tickets are currently unavailable as the ticketing booths are closed for the time being, hence we recommend booking online — it’s easy, hassle-free, and you won’t have to queue!
PSA: You can use your SingaporeRediscovers Vouchers for your Night Safari tickets! These tickets include a round trip on the Night Safari Tram.
After purchasing your tickets on Klook, head to the WRS website to book the time slot for your visit! Do book as early as you can, since capacity is limited due to safe distancing measures.

How to get to the Night Safari

Getting to the Night Safari is pretty straightforward — whether by public transport, shuttle bus or car.
By MRT & bus: Take the North-South Line and transfer to these public busses that will take you right to the parks.
    • Choa Chu Kang (NS4): 927
    • Ang Mo Kio (NS16): 138
By Shuttle Bus: Hop on to the Mandai Khatib Shuttle at Khatib MRT, or the Mandai Express from Tampines, Bedok or Sengkang for convenient transport straight to the Zoo. Do check out their schedules here.
Private Transfer: If you’re looking for convenience, you can also opt for a private transfer that will take you from your house straight to the park.
Address: 80 Mandai Lake Road, Singapore Zoological Gardens, Singapore 729826 Singapore

Hit the Night Safari, River Safari, and Singapore Zoo all in one day

Before the Night Safari starts, why not take the rest of the day to explore both the River Safari and the Singapore Zoo to maximise your trip to Mandai! Plan your visit such that you’re able to head straight to the Night Safari right after 7pm, after exploring the other two parks.
And here’s some good news, all four parks are eligible for the SingaporeRediscovers Vouchers! For the best savings, get the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Safari, Jurong Bird Park Multi-Park Bundle, which includes a visit to the lively Jurong Bird Park.

    Night Safari Opening Hours

    night safari
Night Safari Singapore is open from Thursdays to Sundays, as well as eve of and on public holidays. Operating hours are from 6:30pm to 12am.
Klook Tip: Even though the park technically opens at 7pm, you can head down slightly earlier (say just before 7pm) if you want to be one of the first few to enter the park! This is a good idea if you’re aiming to catch the first Creatures of the Night Show at 7:30pm.

    Night Safari Highlights

Watch the Creatures of the Night Show

night safari creatures of the night
One of the main highlights of the Night Safari is the highly-popular Creatures of the Night Show, which runs at 7:30pm, 8:30pm and 9:30pm. There is an extra 10:30pm showtime on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, eve of Public Holidays and Public Holidays.
Klook Tip: Due to the limited capacity of only 160 guests, this show fills up way before the actual start time. Head to the arena (located just to the right of the Night Safari entrance) at least 30 minutes before the show starts to ensure that you get seats!
We won’t spoil too much, but you can expect spectacular performances from nocturnal creatures like the dexterous otters and agile African serval!

Explore the park on the Night Safari Tram Ride

To get a taste of the entire Night Safari, hop aboard the complimentary Night Safari Tram! Trams depart frequently — we recommend starting off at the main tram stop at the entrance of the Night Safari.
A whole trip around the park takes roughly 40 minutes, but you can choose to hop off whenever you wish at designated stops to explore exhibits up close, or take a walk along one of the trails. You can hop back on the tram whenever you’re done exploring. Some of the animals like the Asian Elephants and Hippos can only be spotted via the tram ride, so it’s well worth it!

Traverse the different Trails on foot

    night safari map
The Night Safari is composed of four different foot trails, with each one taking you on a path to discover a specific set of creatures! If you’d like to explore the whole park on foot, you may choose to start from either the Fishing Cat Trail (clockwise) or the Wallaby Trail (anti-clockwise),

    Wallaby Trail

This trail takes you to explore the nocturnal wildlife of Oceania — namely, Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. Here is where you’ll find marsupials like the Wallaby, Sugar Glider and Possum.
Watch the Wallabies come to life as they start to get active when nightfall approaches.
The tiny Sugar Glider is named for its penchant for sweet plant sap and nectar, along with its ability to glide through the air, much like flying squirrels.

    East Lodge Trail

This trail showcases the animals that roam the crossroads between Africa and Asia, such as the Malayan Tiger and the Spotted Hyena.
The latest addition to the Night Safari, the Aardvark is quite a strange creature at first glance: with rabbit ears, a kangaroo’s tail, and a snout like a pig. It loves to dine on ants, eating as many as 50,000 insects in one night!
Even though the Spotted Hyena looks quite canine-like, they are actually much more closely related to big cats like lions and tigers. These pack hunters have the strongest bite of mammals.

    Leopard Trail

As its name suggests, here is where you’ll encounter one of the greatest nocturnal wildcat hunters: the Leopard.
You’ll also find other leopard-like cats like the Clouded Leopard and Leopard Cat — which are both separate species and not just a kind of leopard — as well as Binturongs, Civets and other night-time mammals!
Take a walk through the flying fox and flying squirrel exhibits. Look up to the sky and see if you can spot their silhouettes flying swiftly through the air!
    night safari porcupines
Catch the porcupines in action as they scramble around for food (they were bigger than we imagined them to be).

    Fishing Cat Trail

On this jungle-like trail, you’ll encounter many unique creatures. The swift and watchful Fishing Cat is the one to look out for — if you’re lucky, you might just get to catch it in action.
The Pangolin is notorious for being one of the most trafficked animals in the world, even making the news last year. The Night Safari’s adorable pangolin, Anggun, is a hit-and-run rescue saved by the WRS staff.
The Southern Three-Banded Armadillo is famous for its self-defense tactic — curling into a ball such that its hard shell protects its entire body. It’s one of only two armadillo species that are able to use such a tactic.

    Night Safari Food and Dining

If you’re feeling peckish, grab dinner at the Ulu Ulu Safari Restaurant — a 300-seater restaurant that serves a variety of local delights. They open from 6:30pm to 11pm daily.
For dessert (or a mid-exploration snack), get a scoop of Ben & Jerry’s from the shop also located at the entrance plaza.

    Night Safari Amenities

    Gift Shop
