How LEGO and Travel Are Adel’s Building Blocks to Becoming ‘The Best You’ — in Klook’s Latest Campaign
How can you become the best version of yourself? Klook’s The Best You campaign believes it starts with embracing new experiences—whether it’s jetsetting away on a new adventure or simply just stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new.

Embracing Childhood Joys: LEGO and Self-Expression
What unlocks a better version of yourself? For Adel, it’s not about big milestones—it’s about going back to basics. And in her case, back to building bricks. For Adel, stepping into ‘The Best You’ meant embracing her inner child to the fullest extent.
When we asked Adel how travel to LEGOLAND would help her become a better version of herself, she shared that her love for LEGO has always been a significant part of her life. “This is my first trip to LEGOLAND because I always wanted to go, but people around me said it’s a place for children. This year, I wanted to try something new—embracing my inner child. I love LEGO. It’s been a big part of my life—I bring my LEGO figurines everywhere.”
More than just a hobby, LEGO represents self-expression and a gentle defiance against expectations. “I used to feel self-conscious about it because it didn't seem ‘adult enough,’ but now I realise that caring less about what others think allows me to be the best version of myself.”
The Best Me: LEGO, Travel, & Navigating ‘Adulting’
Ah, adulting—the glorious chaos of juggling responsibilities, making decisions, and wondering what’s for dinner. Amidst all of that, Adel shares that LEGO has been her constant—a calming tool in the unpredictability of life.
“Finding joy through not caring about what other people think—it's a learning journey for me. LEGO is sort of my coping mechanism. There is no instruction booklet in life, but I can build and rebuild my LEGO sets in a way that gives me a sense of comfort and consistency in the chaos of ‘adulting’. Spending time with LEGO gives me joy because I can prioritise time for myself.”
Similarly, travel also became a meaningful way for Adel to reclaim time for herself and her loved ones. Last year, she brought her parents to Taiwan—a milestone that shifted familiar roles. “I took my parents to Taiwan, and it was my first time there too. Bringing my parents out shows them a different version of myself because I'm taking care of them—it’s a milestone for me because I always look to them for guidance, but this time round the roles are reversed.”
Indeed, some experiences can only happen when we step out of our routines. Whether it’s trying something new, wandering off the beaten path, or simply taking time to breathe, travel opens space for reflection, discovery, and growth. It's in these moments that you become the best version of you. Are there some emotions and experiences that you can only gain when travelling? Adel certainly thinks so.
“I remember taking my parents to Yehliu Geological Park. My parents were so happy! I have video footage of them spreading their arms and enjoying the sea breeze. I remember asking my dad, ‘Are you happy?’, and he said that he was very happy. That’s an experience that I will truly remember for life. And it’s something I would never get if I didn’t bring them overseas.”
Finding The Best You, Even in the Everyday
Still, Adel reminds us that becoming The Best You doesn’t always require a plane ticket. “Experiencing life is already a challenge itself but I think whatever we do is a stepping stone that helps us become a better version of ourselves.”
Whether it's booking that long-awaited trip or making time for your passions, every choice matters. Adel’s story is a timely reminder that progress lies in both big leaps and small steps, and no win is too small to celebrate. “In everything that we have to do in life, pulling through it is a challenge that we should acknowledge. It deserves credit, and that’s how we find joy in little things.”
Her final words of advice are simple yet powerful. “Try it anyway. I don’t like to try new things, but unfortunately, it’s when you do that you realise something new about yourself. If you don’t do it, you won’t give yourself the chance to find out.”
