Located just a short drive across the causeway or a 5 minute train ride away, a trip to Johor Bahru (JB) has become a norm for many. If you're wondering what to do in JB, with a vibrant local food scene, laid-back cafes, cultural sites, theme parks, and great malls, Johor Bahru is a jewel filled with fun things to do!
When it's safe to travel again, plan a short 3D2N getaway to Johor with our suggested itinerary that will bring you to the best sights, attractions, and food spots in the city.

Getting to Johor Bahru from Singapore

Train from Singapore to JB
The train from Singapore to JB is operated by KTM and while you can either get your tickets online via the KTM website, or over the counter at the train station, we definitely recommend pre-booking your tickets as these sell out pretty quickly.
  1. From Woodlands MRT, take bus 856, 903, 911, 912 to the woodlands Train Checkpoint.
  2. Go to the ticket office and present your e-ticket in exchange for a physical ticket. There is almost always a queue so head there early!
  3. Head upstairs to level 2 at least 30 minutes before your train departs.
  4. It's free seating so grab a seat or stand if you wish, afterall the ride is only 5-minutes.

Private car charter from Singapore to JB
After you arrive in Johor Bahru, you will still need to get around. Unlike in Singapore, you won't be able to easily navigate their public transport system and it can be pretty difficult to flag a taxi off the streets if you're not familiar with the road names.
Pre-book your private car charter from Singapore to Johor Bahru and you'll have a private driver take you across the causeway and wherever you'd like to visit in JB. At the end of your trip, he will also safely drive you back to your home!
