unique outdoor experience for team lab. it happens even when it rains so bring some waterproof items to stay dry for your feet and clothes. there is also a free tour with the guide for about 30 mins to give more details about the installations, which was great. give yourself some time to appreciate and walk around to take some amazing photos. lots of staff around to answer questions and help guide. most were English speaking g which helped. highly recommend and if raining in the summer, bring an small electric fan since it gets very humid and warm
. The layout encourages slow exploration rather than rushing from one piece to another. Some areas are quiet and meditative, while others are more visually dynamic and interactive. This balance keeps the experience engaging without becoming overwhelming. It’s also surprisingly spacious, so even when there are other visitors, it rarely feels too crowded if you take your time That said, it’s best to go on a clear evening, as weather can impact visibility and overall enjoyment. Comfortable shoes are also a must since you’ll be walking quite a bit on uneven terrain. While tickets may feel slightly expensive at first, the experience justifies the price, especially for those interested in art, technology, or photography TeamLab Botanical Garden Osaka is not just an exhibition—it’s an experience that encourages you to reconnect with nature in a completely new way. It’s highly recommended for couples, solo travelers, and anyone looking for something beyond the usual sightseeing spots in Osaka
Stepping into teamLab Botanical Garden Osaka (Nagai Botanical Garden Night Exhibition) feels like entering a dream where light and nature resonate ✨ From the entrance, you feel gently embraced by the forest. The shadows of the trees at night, the leaves rustling in the wind, and the reflections in the pond all feel like part of the art's stage. The exhibition cleverly blends "plants, light, and sound," making you feel not just like a spectator, but a part of nature itself. What impressed me most was the "Responding Small Universe" in the camellia garden—countless luminous egg-shaped devices scattered among the trees. When you approach, touch them, or the wind blows, they change color and make sounds, as if "conversing" with you. There's also the eucalyptus forest and the floating lights in the center of the large pond, each spot like a carefully arranged dreamlike scene. I spent about 1.5 hours there, slowly walking and feeling, sometimes stopping to listen to the wind and watch the changing light, completely losing track of time. Although the exhibition is outdoors, be careful where the lighting is dim, and you may encounter mosquitoes, so I recommend wearing comfortable shoes and long sleeves for peace of mind.
Ever since seeing teamLab in Taiwan, I've been hooked! This time, seeing the nighttime teamLab at Nagai Botanical Garden in Osaka had a unique flavor. Even without teamLab's signature indoor space with painted animals, the combination of the botanical garden's plants and teamLab's art is still very worthwhile! This exhibition is roughly divided into six areas. As you enter from the entrance, there are two rows of bald cypress trees, with a lake at the end. The lights on the trees by the lake change, allowing you to capture different colored trees and their reflections in the lake. In the next area, there are many small dinosaur eggs arranged irregularly in the forest. You can find your favorite and take a photo with it. After walking out of the egg forest, you will reach the other side of the lake. There are several special pillars in the lake with many constantly moving patterns on them. Walking towards the restrooms, there is a row of maple trees. When they turn red, the leaves you capture in photos are super red, and you can also capture their reflection in the lake. Further ahead, there is an area of small lanterns on the lake, which feels very warm. Next, you can go to a forest with many large spheres. The colors of these spheres also change with time. On the day we went, there was some rain in the morning, and someone even used leaves to create a 🧡 shape on one of the spheres. Further ahead, the forest uses green light on the trees, creating many ripple effects, but it looks just okay, so we quickly walked through 😅. Continuing forward, there is a long string of curtains in the forest, with people or animals walking forward, but the accompanying sound feels a bit eerie 😅. Then, behind it, there is a flame effect, which is beautiful but doesn't feel too special. After leaving the forest, you will come to a special art piece where many long things sway and jump upwards to soothing music. You can sit down on the chairs next to it and relax and enjoy it 😆. Then, you can wander around the irises to the lakeside and take some more beautiful photos before preparing to go home 🥰 Experience: Awesome
Visiting teamLab Botanical Garden in Osaka was such a unique and mesmerizing experience! The garden lights up with stunning interactive art installations that blend perfectly with the natural surroundings. There were glowing orbs, shifting colors, and gentle music creating a really calming vibe.
Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! Weather is perfect for us to be there for today. Based on previous visitors' comments, we brought mosquito repellent and wore long pants, but we didn't need them. The gentle music playing inside the park created a truly peaceful atmosphere. Furthermore, it wasn't so dark inside that you couldn't see your way around. The dreamlike interplay of lights and shadows was breathtaking. The large expanse of colorful light eggs in Area B reminded me of the Alien movie, but with a more friendly presence. Highly recommended.
A refreshing take on teamLab. this outdoor setup lets you explore freely at your own pace, unlike the more crowded and indoor experience. The blend of art, technology, and nature feels genuinely immersive. Great for all ages too, with plenty of space to enjoy without the usual crowds. Highly recommended
we came on a rainy day in March 2026, and honestly, I think that added to it. it was remarkably colourful, and very calming to walk through the exhibits. I was particularly fond of the second section which involved having coloured lights on the trees, and LED pods in the forest.
