Kyoto Coast Fairytale Journey: Sea Train, Amanohashidate & Ine Funaya One-Day Tour

Richard the tour guide was helpful and responsive. The tour included beautiful views in Amanohashidate. Chairlift and Sky Cycle were a surreal experience at Amanohashidate Viewland. Boat ride was a fun experience feeding the Seagulls and Kites at Ine Bay.

Our tour guide this time was Frank Wang Ping, and he was very attentive, taking care of everyone and checking on how we were doing. Our first stop was the Tango Sea Railway. This is a rural area, so it has a tranquil feel. We only passed the sea for 28 seconds, so the tour guide told us to quickly record a video and take pictures. Next, we took a cable car to Amanohashidate. Riding the cable car alone was fun and a very unique experience. Once at the top, there were some facilities where you could pay extra to play. The scenery looking down was breathtaking! Next, we arrived at Ine no Funaya. Most of the people here live by fishing. The first floor is for mooring boats, and the second floor is used as living quarters. We took a walk around and then took a boat to feed the seagulls. It was a bit scary but a very special experience.

Highly recommended to go on this tour with family and friends! We even managed to see snow on the way there! My family had a fun time feeding the seagulls with shrimp crackers at Ine. We also managed to take nice pictures and enjoyed the view at Amanohashidate.

When the seaside train crossed the Yura River bridge, a collective gasp filled the carriage—the azure sea unfolded on both sides of the tracks, just like the train to the spirit world in "Spirited Away." You smiled and switched between Chinese and English explanations: "Please look to your left; we are now traveling on the blue canvas of Miyazu Bay." This poetic cue became our magic spell to begin the journey. At the Amanohashidate viewpoint, you taught us to bend over and look at the world upside down through our legs. The white sand and green pines, originally lying quietly by the blue sea, instantly transformed into a bridge leading to the sky. In front of the wisdom wheel lantern at Chion-ji Temple, you recounted the century-old bond between the stone lantern and the ship's anchor. As we walked across the rotating bridge, just as a ship was passing, the bridge surface slowly turned like an unfolding fan. Your precisely calculated stopping time allowed our cameras to capture the spectacle of the sea and land connecting. The Ine Funaya boathouses at noon were even more breathtaking than Venice. Two hundred and thirty wooden buildings facing the water drew a graceful arc along the bay. You led us to open the wooden lattice window of "Funaya Biyori," telling us about the wisdom of fishermen coexisting with the sea as we enjoyed the aroma of coffee. As the sightseeing boat cut through the emerald-colored sea, a flock of seagulls chased after the stern, and you promptly handed out shrimp-flavored snacks, filling our palms with wings—a surprise you had specially prepared. Throughout the entire trip, your watch seemed to have an invisible hourglass, and the transition between each attraction was as precise as a Swiss watch movement. During the gaps in the car rides, you retold historical anecdotes in both languages, beads of sweat already forming on your forehead, yet your pronunciation remained clear and accurate. When a group member accidentally left their sun hat on the sightseeing boat, you had already noted the seat number and ran back to retrieve it. Your figure was more touching than any scenery. At the time of parting, the setting sun was plating the boathouses with gold. Your bowing figure in the twilight reminded us of the stone lantern at Chion-ji Temple that forever illuminates the sea route. It turns out that a true guide is not just an itinerary planner but also a magician who can elevate an ordinary journey into a poem. Thank you for allowing us to see that the beauty of the Three Views of Japan lies not only in the natural landscape but also in every moment interwoven with professionalism and warmth.

Had a fantastic day out with Harry on this northern coastal adventure. Harry Is a great guide, friendly, approachable, and very attentative. He managed the day and the bilingual group very well and made everyone felt welcome. Big 👍🏽 to Harry. The tour itself is well designed with almost 3 hours in the morning visiting Amanohashidate and for lunch. The recommended restaurant was fantasic and my seafood bowl and giant oyster were amazing. In the afternoon we visited the boat house village of Ine and there was plenty time to wonder around and discover. All in all a very happy day out. The bus was comfy and driver was careful. Highly recommended.

It's a great one-day tour. thanks to our guide, Ms Bunny is very good at leading us. She's fluent in chinese & english, also took good care of me since i'm solo travelling. At amanohashidate, I rode the chairlift and the view was amazing. then we took the boat at ine, the seagull experience was really good. overall, it's a wonderful journey and please don't hesitate to book one, i really recommend.

Thank you to the guide who was willing to wait for me even though I was almost late and had trouble finding the bus. A relaxed one-day tour, not rushed, with plenty of destinations. However, it would be better if the guide were more knowledgeable and understood the destinations, rather than just reading from a script and coordinating with the participants. Like forgetting to buy a chairlift ticket at Amanohashidate, or waiting for the train even though it had already arrived, so many passengers were standing. Not everyone was given instructions regarding the meeting point upon arrival at the destination, the time, and the location on the map, so some participants were confused. Also, the guide communicated mostly with only a few people. And finally, we arrived in Osaka right on time. Thanks 😁

I've been on a few "mixed language" tours, but ChaCha did a great job of actually switching between Chinese and English very well. I never felt like I was missing anything. She always seemed happy about bringing us to where we are going. I'm glad to have gone on this trip, because there's no way I would have been able go to Kyoto by the Sea without the tour. It is quite a packed itinerary.

We participated in the tour and overall had a very entertaining time. The tour was well organized and we were able to see many exciting places. We were particularly impressed by the seagull feeding, a truly great experience! In addition, the train ride was also a highlight. Traveling over the sea was simply fantastic and something we won't soon forget. Despite the bad weather, our tour guide Even led us brilliantly through the day. She explained a lot, was attentive and accompanied us safely. Overall, it was a nice and worthwhile tour!

Shuya was a very efficient guide both in English and Chinese. Her instructions were clear as to the meeting point and time. She even sent messages via WhatsApp to remind us of our departure. Overall a very nice experience! The train ride saved us an hour so we arrived an hour ealier in Amanohashidate before the most of the other tourists. The chairlift was great. Ine Village and the boat ride along Ine Bay was also great. It was a very fun filled day 😊
