Hokkaido Secret Adventure: Cape Kamui Day Trip | Cape Kamui, Shimamui Coast, Yoichi Distillery & Otaru

The tour was awesome! The walk to the edge of the cliff was worth it as the view was truly breathtaking! On top of that the tourguide (Zhou) was very informative in giving us the history and backgroud of all the stop overs in this itinerary! He was also very engaging and knowledgeable and gave us good tips on other spots and restaurants to try in the future!

The itinerary was well thought out as it covered sightseeing in Cape Kamui and Cape Shimamui, a whiskey distillery visit, and sightseeing and shopping at Otaru. Our tour guide Yan did a great job in accommodating the desires of our tour members, being flexible in adjusting the schedule and making sure that we had enough time for lunch. I was particularly impressed by the discipline and consideration of our tour members as we were all punctual at the designated times and they were all friendly and nice. All in all it was a great trip and time well spent, thanks to Klook.

nice places to visit, but only four visits for a full day trip. the last three you spend too much time at, particularly the second visit, as 40 minutes is too long to take photos of a single bay. the visit to the whiskey distillery was too long, although the museum is interesting we could only access half of it, so you end up spending a lot of time in the shop. the last visit to Otaru could have been longer, it’s very pretty and interesting with shops and cafes, as well as art galleries and the canals. but nice to see the beautiful countryside of Japan and overall good value.

This tour offers excellent value for money. Our guide, Yan Xiaobai, was very enthusiastic and provided attentive and detailed service. He shared stories about the attractions along the way, making for a great overall experience. I would highly recommend this to friends to experience the beautiful scenery and service. Cape Kamui is beautiful, the Shakotan Blue is a feast for the eyes, and the small tunnel at Shimamui Coast feels like traveling through time.

Recommended for independent travelers who prefer not to drive. Cape Kamui in Shakotan is absolutely stunning. Unfortunately, the path to the lighthouse was closed due to strong winds. The mixed-flavor ice cream at the shop resembles Shakotan Blue and is worth trying. The Yu's sake brewery has a fascinating origin story, and I picked up a distillery-exclusive whiskey. Shops like Rokkatei in Otaru can also be found in Sapporo, so I recommend avoiding carrying large bags back to the city.

This was my second trip to Hokkaido with Klook, Booking process was very easy and affordable. Our tour guide’s English was very fluent and easy to understand, which made the experience even better. She shared with us the story of Cape Kamui, and it really touched my heart. This time, I was really looking forward to visiting Cape Kamui, but unfortunately, it was closed due to strong winds 😭. Even so, we were able to enjoy the beautiful view from the gate, and I took lots of pictures to remember the moment. Overall, I really enjoyed the trip. Thank you so much to our wonderful tour guide (though sadly I don’t remember her name). I truly appreciated her guidance and storytelling. 💙

There's plenty of time to spend at each attraction. Unfortunately, the wind at Cape Kamui was too strong, and some sections were closed.

The audio of the speaker is very soft. We sat at the back and couldn’t hear her speak. So we raised the concern and the guide willingly transfered seats so we can hear her. I just wish she interacted with us more and maybr gave some recommendations at Otaru

The scenery and schedule were very well arranged, with enough time to stop and enjoy the beautiful views. The tour guide provided detailed explanations at each stop, which was very thoughtful. The shuttle was a 21-seater minibus, perfect for solo travelers, as the attractions are indeed a bit difficult to reach.
