What to expect
- Pre-departure notice: The day before your trip, between approximately 18:00 and 21:00, we will send you detailed guide and vehicle information via email. Please be sure to check it in time.
- Today, we will visit two areas, Sanzen-in and Arashiyama. It will be a fulfilling trip, starting now.
- First stop: Sanzen-in. Sanzen-in is located in Ohara, Rakuhoku, Kyoto, and is one of the three Monzeki temples of the Tendai sect. Within the vast temple grounds, there are ancient trees reaching for the sky, moss-covered grounds, and flowing streams. Cherry blossoms in April, azaleas in May, hydrangeas in July, and autumn leaves provide delightful natural scenery throughout the year. "Jubien" and "Yuseien," two pond-spring gardens designed by Soetsu Kanamori, are the best places to view the seasonal scenery of Sanzen-in. It is a great place to experience traditional Japanese religious culture and nature.
- Second stop: Arashiyama. The Arashiyama area consists of the Arashiyama and Sagano areas. This area not only has abundant cultural attractions, but also natural scenery that changes with the seasons and a retro-style scenic train. There are many ancient temples and shrines concentrated here, and Tenryu-ji Temple is a world heritage site. The bamboo grove path between Nonomiya Shrine and Okochi Sanso Villa is famous. As a famous spot for cherry blossoms and autumn leaves, Arashiyama attracts a large number of tourists every spring and autumn. Tickets for the Sagano Scenic Railway are often hard to come by (it is recommended to book tickets online in advance), while the winter and summer seasons are very quiet, making it suitable for travelers who like tranquility. The Arashiyama area has many long-established restaurants, Japanese confectionery shops, and cute general merchandise stores. You can also rent kimonos and rickshaws, making it a great place to slow down. At the Randen Arashiyama Station, there is a Japanese-style foot bath, which is modeled after JR Kyushu’s Yufuin Station. If you buy seasonal sweets at the shop next to it, you can enjoy the foot bath while tasting them. Let the waters of Arashiyama Onsen thoroughly eliminate the fatigue after your walk. These attractions each have their own characteristics, forming a rich and colorful one-day tour of Kyoto. Whether it’s natural beauty or cultural experiences, you’ll have plenty of wonderful memories. Come join us and explore the charm of Kyoto and share this joy together!

Reviews
Appreciated the serene gardens at Sanzen-ji temple. Can buy tea set for 600 yen with matcha and Japanese sweet to enjoy in this setting. Tour guide Alvin is detailed and knowledgeable.
Sanzen-in Temple is far away and the transportation is inconvenient, but it is worth a visit. One-day tour is the most convenient option! The tour has plenty of time to visit and you can enjoy it to your heart's content!!! Have a cup of tea in the courtyard and quietly appreciate the beauty of Japanese gardening. There are also Jizo Bodhisattvas scattered everywhere in the temple, quietly covered with moss. A very unforgettable experience. The Arashiyama train is also highly recommended. You need to book a ticket separately (the train is too popular. It is not easy to book tickets online. It took a lot of effort to buy one). If you don't take the train, you can also go to the bamboo forest, Togetsukyo Bridge or Tenryuji Temple nearby. The scenery is also beautiful.
Zhao Jing is truly a fantastic tour guide! She is very meticulous and patient, speaks very gently, and takes care of every member of the group attentively. Today's tour not only had beautiful scenery but was also not rushed at all, allowing us to fully appreciate the beauty of Japan! If I have the opportunity to come to Japan and join a Klook tour again, I hope to have the opportunity to join a tour led by Zhao Jing again! I highly recommend her to friends who want to travel to Japan!
This was my first time taking a one-day tour in Japan, and I was extremely satisfied with the experience. Many thanks to our tour leader, Zhang Yong (the driver), for his kind explanations and thoughtful service. The timing for each stop was perfectly managed, making it a very enjoyable one-day trip. I hope we can have him guide us around Japan again next time.
Basically, buying a one-day tour on this platform is the itinerary I would arrange when traveling alone. It is convenient and the price is not too high. This time I chose to buy it on this platform again. This time the driver was a group driver. There were not many people and he treated me like family, which made me feel at ease.
guide contacted us a day before and providee clear guidance and instructions of meeting point and time. she was there at meeting point and bus was there on time. she went through the itinerary in detail and give some perspective and background of each place plus detail maps and what to eat or see. good guide and a good full day trip.
Our tour was quite exhausting, but it was worth it! We visited some amazing places in the Kansai area of Japan, especially Kyoto. Lucy was an incredible guide. She explained everything we saw and gave us great tips on where to eat and what to do. And the best part? Everywhere we went, she’d give us a simple treat on the bus. I highly recommend her as your tour guide when you visit Japan.
The tour guide was very kind and introduced the scenic spots in detail. He was still concerned about it even after returning to the hotel. He was indeed very responsible.
Worth the trip! The tour guide gave a detailed explanation of every destination. The scenery is beautiful
Excellent service rendered by Tour Guide Frederick. He was very helpful throughout the journey and even gave us a ride to our hotel as the fiddle bus was caught in a jam ☺️🙏🏻👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼will definitely recommend this tour agency to my friends 😉
