Historically, Japan’s second city to open to the world in the late 1800s, Kobe is a city full of cultural wonders. It has thrived as the world’s pearl capital for about 80 years, still accounting for approximately 80% of Japan’s pearl processing and distribution volume. Kobe is also home to one of Japan’s most celebrated sake breweries, being the largest producer of sake.
