Special Exhibition: Healing Japanese Art ―Jakuchū’s Solace and Togyū’s Comfort―

The collection mainly focuses on Kindai Nihonga (Modern Japanese paintings after Meiji era). The Museum also has collections of oil paintings, Ukiyoe, and Ancient Japanese Calligraphy.

Our wagashi, Japanese sweets, are Cafe Tsubaki originals, based on selecting motifs -flowers, fruit, and animals -from the works in each exhibition and specially ordering them from Kikuya, a confectionary with a long and distinguished history in Aoyama.

Cafe Tsubaki ("Cafe Camellia"), in the first floor lobby, derives its name from Hayami Gyoshū's Camellia Petals Scattering, an Important Cultural Property and a popular part of the Yamatane collection.
