Fantastic 5.0
The tour of Borobudur and Prambanan temples was thoroughly satisfying. Although the government entrance fees are high, the preservation, restoration, and maintenance efforts are befitting of a World Heritage site. The park transportation and the detailed explanations from the guides made it well worth the cost. PRAS, who explained Borobudur, was fluent in Japanese and shared stories about visits from the Imperial Family and how JICA, with Japanese ODA, helped with the site's development. His explanations of the history and reliefs were also excellent. For lunch, we ate at a delicious restaurant on the way to Prambanan. The daytime temperatures were high, and we were quite tired after Borobudur in the morning, so we only visited the main areas of Prambanan. Our driver, Romy, was a friendly young man who loved Japanese anime and kept us entertained with engaging conversation during the long journey. He was also skilled at photography and took some great pictures for us. This tour comes highly recommended.

Romy from Tejong Asia was an excellent tour guide. He arrived early to pick us up and was able to drop us off at different locations along the way so we could get the things we needed, such as breakfast, water, and iced drinks. He was very accommodating throughout the trip. he also edited the videos for us; he took photos and videos for the tour. He took the initiative to make a video on his own, and it was super cute and high quality. He also prepared plastic bags for us after the tour because he knew that our clothes would be wet, which was very helpful. Thank you, Romy. Anni from Pindol cave and gave us the best tour and even gave me his slippers because I lost mine in the water while he walked on the rocks barefoot and carried our rubber tubing for us, truly the best experience booking this tour. highly recommend for anyone looking to do smth fun in Jogja!

Fantastic 5.0
it's considerably more expensive than if you were to organize yourself, BUT, I think it's worth it. My driver Adit was very helpful, and punctual. He also very friendly and provided me with a lot of information. The trip was smooth, he helped handle all the tickets, processes. The car was spacious , clean and had bottled water and tissue ready. I got to cover 2 temple complexes within a morning. I would recommend to someone wanting to travel without fuse, save energy for exploring and wants something time-efficient and safe.

This was my very first time visiting a volcano, and I did it solo I had an absolutely amazing experience. Huge thanks to Mas Uji from De Jong Asia Holidays for being such an incredible guide. Since I was traveling alone, he made sure I was safe and well taken care of the entire time. Knowing that it gets freezing up there, he even borrowed a blanket for me, prepared meals, and served warm ginger tea such thoughtful details Overall, I loved this trip so much. Highly recommended, especially if you're traveling solo😊

Everything went on smoothly. Our driver, Romy, picked us up from our hotel on time. Both provider and Romy contacted us ahead of time in terms of our tour and itinerary. Romy was friendly, informative and gave us an awesome experience! We have learned so much from our Borobudur tour, c/o Mr. Mura who knew a lot about history and mythology 😅 Our whole itinerary lasted 6 hours, including travel time. Overall a very nice experience. Will surely book again if we go back to Jogja! 💯

Fantastic 5.0
The Borobudur sunrise tour was truly amazing, and our guide Wahyu made it even better -he arrived an hour early, kept perfect time, and gave insightful explanations throughout. ***Now about the Borobudur: The temple itself is breathtaking, though we were a bit disappointed to see some visitors sitting on the ancient structure despite the guide clearly stating it's not allowed. Given that it's a UNESCO-protected site, we feel more staff should be stationed at the top to gently enforce these simple rules. Also, the free time felt quite rushed one hour wasn't quite enough to fully take in the grandeur of the place.

Fantastic 5.0
Interesting show to watch. Dis not avail the dinner buffet because I already ate but there’s also a cafe outside the amphitheater where, you can hangout while waiting for the show to open AT SEVEN THIRTY (7:30 PM). I just hope you have the option to choose your seat as seats on the side does not have a back rest. Nonetheless, it is worthwile seeing the show when in Jogja!

The cave experience was absolutely fantastic and incredibly beautiful, and I was so lucky to have such great weather. The driver, Joni, was exceptionally nice. He kindly reminded me to be careful whenever the road conditions were rough. Afterwards, he even took the initiative to bring me to try some Luwak coffee, which was a lovely bonus experience!

What to know before visiting Yogyakarta

Top experiences to try in Yogyakarta throughout the year

Yogyakarta’s top bookings are dominated by Tours, followed by Events & shows, with a steady trickle of Massages and Cultural experiences; Zoos & aquariums make for budget-friendly add-ons. Demand spikes around 2025-07 and eases toward 2025-11, so the city’s sightseeing and live events have a strong high-season rhythm that shapes when tours and tickets sell out.

Best activities for families, couples and solo travellers

Families often favour Zoos & aquariums and family-friendly Events & shows — these are low-cost, easy-to-access options that work well with kids. Couples will enjoy Cultural experiences and evening Events & shows for a more intimate, local feel. Solo travellers and small groups tend to book Tours and Massages: tours offer the widest range of price and style, while massages are a compact, easy-to-add treat.

What travellers from the Philippines tend to book ahead

With a typical planning horizon of about four days, most visitors from the Philippines keep plans flexible and pick up many activities a day or two before travel, though the earliest planners book roughly 15 days ahead. Booking earlier matters most in the peak period around 2025-07, when demand climbs sharply and popular tours and shows fill up faster.

Comparing categories by cost and who they suit

Zoos & aquariums are the easiest way in, offering the lowest mid-range price and straightforward value for families and budget-minded travellers. Events & shows sit at modest prices and suit couples and groups looking for evening entertainment. Massages and Cultural experiences occupy a mid-range slot for those seeking relaxation or local insight. Tours are the priciest on average and have the widest spread of options, making them the best category for travellers who want everything from budget day trips to premium guided experiences.
