Aomori, located at the northernmost tip of Honshu, has heavy snow in winter. The Irase Gorge's ice waterfalls and snow-walled corridors are still beautiful in winter.

The snow fall was heavy one day before the tour. Our driver was so skillful and so relax when navigating the car in the heavy snow that it helps me to feel calm the entire journey. The view was really beautiful & I hope can repeat again coming to experience other season too such as during autumn.

The tour guide was very kind and enthusiastic, and even Japanese was easy to understand. The only drawback was that when we arrived at the cable car station, there were a large number of skiers and we had to wait in line for 120 minutes, but the stay time was only 90 minutes. Due to lack of time, we did not go up the mountain, but half of the people in the same car went up the mountain, resulting in the original stay until 10:45. Because we had to wait for them to go down the mountain, we didn’t leave until 12:15. Therefore, the rest of the trip stayed for 10 minutes before leaving. When we asked the tour guide, he replied that he could only leave after everyone arrived. There was no contingency plan. It is recommended that if this is the case, please ask the tour guide to let everyone take the cable car and change the departure time for the next stop.

Today the weather is very cold and there is a cold front, but the driver was very nice and turned on the heater, so even though it was cold outside, it was warm as soon as I got in the car.

Super nice and comfortable experience with a small group transport. The driver spoke only Japanese and used the translator for English so he could make himself understood very well, and he is also very friendly. I really recommend it. And there is plenty of time at all the sites on the itinerary, which as specified in the plan there were 2 sites that were not visited in winter and were replaced by 2 others in our case the Neputa Museum and Hirosaki Park.

Oirase Gorge is famous for its magnificent natural scenery and seasonal changes. This one-day tour allowed me to deeply appreciate the charm of nature. Walking along the stream, the sound of clear flowing water and the lush green forest complement each other, making you feel as if you are in a paradise. On the way, we passed the famous Choshi Waterfall and felt the shocking force of the waterfall rushing down, which was refreshing. Whether it is the moss by the stream, the ancient trees, or the staggered rock landscape, each one is like a beautiful painting. This trip not only allowed me to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, but also brought physical and mental healing. It is definitely worth a revisit.

There was no cable car service at Hakkoda Mountain due to strong winds, so after staying there for a while, the driver took us to Sukayu Hot Spring. After the Oirase Gorge the weather improved and we got off the car three times to admire the waterfall up close. Afterwards, we will have lunch and free time in Towada. The driver didn't understand English. When we changed to Suantang Onsen, he didn't introduce its features and only told the meeting time in Japanese. It would have been better if he could write down the time.
