Things to do in Pura Ulun Danu Batur

This was the best tour I had in Bali! Spending a little extra money for the dual fun of hiking to the summit and a jeep tour was absolutely worth it! My guide, Gus Conk, is not only a hiking expert but also the best photographer! I was luckier than other hikers because I got more stunning landscape shots and beautiful Instagram-worthy portraits. Other hikers even asked Gus Conk to take their photos, which just shows how professional he is! My jeep driver, Adi, was also very professional; he drove steadily and was very patient in helping with photos! I highly recommend this 40-minute summit hike combined with the black lava experience for anyone who can handle a bit of mountain trail! Be careful on the way down as the rocks can be slippery, but the ascent isn't difficult, probably on par with the difficulty of a suburban mountain hike in Taiwan.

Watching the sunrise at Mount Batur was an amazing experience! Unfortunately, the sunrise itself wasn’t visible due to the weather, but we were still able to capture some really beautiful photos. Luckily, our tour guide, Yonki, was an excellent photographer and knew all the best spots to capture stunning scenic views. He really made the experience worthwhile and ensured we went home with beautiful memories and photos. Highly recommended, especially if you’re looking for a great guide who knows how to capture the beauty of Mount Batur!

We traveled to Bali as a group of four friends, and Yana and Rhonda were our drivers throughout the trip. They drove safely and were incredibly helpful, especially when it came to taking photos for us. They were also very communicative and flexible, adjusting the pace of the tour to suit our preferences. We highly recommend starting early in the morning. This allows enough time to transfer vehicles, secure a good viewing spot, and fully enjoy the experience. Waking up early was definitely worth it—we had the chance to see a sky full of stars before sunrise, followed by a beautiful sunrise view. Along the way, we also learned more about Bali’s volcanoes and tectonic activity, which added an educational element to the trip.

We just finished a 3 day private tour in Bali with Gede Soma, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. what a great service and thanks to our driver Agus and guide Nyoman (I think) who took the greatest care on either a crazy road trying to manage traffic or up and down a steep mountain and sharing great local knowledge. well worth it if you think you can handle the hike and thanks for letting some kiwis have an awesome run down the hill - followed by a nice wallow on the hot springs for recovery
