Things to do in Chiang Mai Old City

Thanks for our tour guide, Immy. She is full of the knowledge of the history and temple related. And she is also patient to any of my questions. The temples are very beautiful and walking in this area is let me feel peace. Above all, this is a excellent tour for who wants to know more about history of Chiangmai.

Not worth for private tour, maybe group tour okay. Chian Mai is so small you can see everything youself.

I was extremely satisfied with my visit to Makkha Health & Spa Old Town Chiang Mai for a massage, and I'm very grateful for the dedication of the establishment and the massage therapist. The environment felt relaxing as soon as I walked in, with a charming old-house ambiance. The entire place was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the staff were all friendly and polite. The massage therapist's technique was very professional, and the pressure was just right. I never felt awkward or uncomfortable during the session, and it truly helped release the fatigue accumulated during my travels. After the massage, my body felt much lighter, and my mind was significantly more relaxed. I highly recommend this place. Not only was the massage comfortable, but the overall experience, the atmosphere, and the attention to service details were all excellent. It's definitely worth scheduling a visit when you're in Chiang Mai; it's the kind of place that makes you want to return! I'm very thankful for this service; it truly left me with wonderful memories.

The spa is quite big and seems to be converted from a hotel before. We had a foot soak before the spa then were led behind and upstairs. The rooms had a glass door to prevent noise and was very spacious. My partner and I had the aroma massage and though it felt strong at first but we fell asleep. would come again

My first trip to Chiang Mai on May 8, 2026, left me with unforgettable memories. From JJ's initial introduction and explanation, I could feel the park's dedication to this project. It wasn't a commercial performance tour, but rather one that truly prioritized the elephants' lives and care. The itinerary included a fruit feeding experience, but more time was spent quietly observing the elephants living freely, walking, playing in the water, and interacting. There were no forced performances or rides; instead, we accompanied and got to know them in the most natural way. I also want to tell everyone that if you come to Chiang Mai, an experience like this is truly worthwhile. Even though the journey is a bit long, I hope everyone can understand that it's precisely because they are far from the city that they have more spacious land to roam freely. Watching them live so freely, it felt as if I could sense the elephants' genuine happiness and the feeling of being well-treated.

This food tour was absolutely fantastic! Our guide not only took us to sample various authentic local delicacies and explore a historic market beloved by locals, but what truly impressed me was their extensive knowledge. While we savored each dish, the guide also shared the fascinating stories behind the evolution of these foods. Through the changes in these culinary traditions, I felt as if I witnessed the entire trajectory of the city's development and the spirit of the generations who have lived here. This was more than just a treat for the taste buds; it was a profound cultural experience. The itinerary was very well-planned and offered excellent value for money. When you visit Chiang Mai, a city known for its relaxed pace, exploring temples is a must! Our guide, Ms. Immy, was absolutely lovely and communicated well in English. The tour included three temples, and she explained the culture and origins of each. Please note that women are not allowed in some smaller temples next to the main ones, but the main temples are always accessible. Afterward, she took us to a local traditional market. Since it was April and very hot, Immy first treated us to some famous Thai iced tea. Once inside the market, you can tell your guide what you'd like to buy, and she'll take you to the right vendors. The prices in the market are very affordable, making it a great place to buy souvenirs. Finally, our guide also treated us to some local specialty snacks. It was a wonderful trip!
