Whether you’re a seasoned traveler or a newbie, one important thing to keep in mind is it pays to be well-prepared. Aside from your packing list and itinerary, it’s important to stay updated with the rules when entering the island 🌺. Make sure to secure a hotel booking ahead of your arrival since the island would only allow visitors with prior bookings. Also, be aware of the right prices of tricycles and e-trikes and it’s best to hail public transportation from authorized vehicles and drivers only. You can save yourself from this hassle too if you opt to book for vehicle transfers 🚗. This is recommended for you especially if you’re traveling with more luggage and/or with children or elders.

You can hop on and hop off when hailing an e-trike in Boracay. But if doing so, it’s better to hail an e-trike with passengers in it or clarify with the driver that you’re doing the “hop-on-hop-off” to avoid being charged with their chartered rates.

    2. Bring enough cash with you

There are ATMs 🏧available in different Stations of Boracay, but it’s always still best to bring enough emergency cash 💵 with you if possible just to make things easier for you in case online payment isn’t available. There are several ATMs 🏧 around Boracay so you also won’t have to worry about bringing plenty of cash 💸 with you when traveling to Boracay, you can just simply withdraw extra cash when on the island 🌴.
To avoid problems like this, it might also be better if you can pay for services that can be paid ahead of time like hotel bookings, vehicle transfers, and activities. You won’t have to worry about paying for your tour packages and activities if you get Klook’s Bundle Pass.

    3. Mind the environment

In case you didn’t know, Boracay once closed due to increasing pollution which endangered the island’s ecosystem. To maintain the beauty of Boracay, every visitor should also be mindful and helpful in restoring and turning Boracay into a sustainable island. It’s advisable to bring a tumbler and an eco-bag with you for shopping. With this continuous effort, you can enjoy Boracay’s beautiful sunset, beach, and fringed coconut trees.

    4. Bring some spare change with you if you’re commuting

When in Boracay, public transportation is common and they’re easily available for hire. However, commuting will be so much easier if you have exact or spare change to pay for your e-trike rides.
Klook tip: It’s important to research for the right e-trike prices to avoid falling for bloated pricing for tourists! To avoid such a scam, you can conveniently buy the ready-to-use Hop-On-Hop-Off (HOHO) card via Klook. This is much more reliable especially if you’re traveling alone or with kids.

    Don’ts

Drinking tap water isn’t encouraged when in Boracay especially if you have a sensitive stomach. You won’t have a problem with purchasing bottled water since Boracay’s full of establishments that sell sealed beverages 🍹. The same goes with food 🍔, if you think your stomach can’t handle street food, it’s better to buy food in restaurants. Besides, there are tons of restaurants situated in Boracay. You can even buy vouchers ahead of time on Klook.

    2. Don’t smoke or drink alcohol near the beach

Called a “paradise reborn” by TIME magazine in 2022, tourists are no longer allowed to smoke 🚭 and drink alcohol 🍺 near the beach. Infrastructures are also prohibited so you won’t see chairs, toilets, and umbrellas near the beach 🌊.

    3. Don’t leave your things unattended

We know this is already a common reminder but when you’re in a majestic place like Boracay, you tend to be lax. Although generally, it’s safe in Boracay and there are nearby police stations and officers 👮‍♂️ roaming around, your belongings are still your responsibility. With thousands of people coming in and out of Boracay, it’s better to be careful to avoid stress during your vacation.
