1. Silent Sanctuary Reserve Campgrounds

Silent Sanctuary Reserve Campgrounds is one of the newest campsites near Manila, but their unique setup and breathtaking location are already making a buzz around social media. But before establishing itself as a campsite, it actually began as an advocacy project by Overland Kings, a group that brings quality adventure gears from Australia to the Philippines to help the DEAF School in Caliraya.

Silent Sanctuary has four campsites, all of which are designed for vehicle-dependent camping or Overlanding. There’s a nearby lake visitors can explore during their stay, plus other amenities like shower rooms, restrooms, a gazebo, and more.

2. Mount Purro Nature Reserve

Located at the foot of Sierra Madre Mountain Range is the eco-park of Mount Purro Nature Reserve. The owners’ original intention was to rehabilitate the Upper Marikina Watershed and help the Dumagat tribe who live near Mount Purro but today, it has grown into a full-scale nature resort that welcomes day-trippers, campers, and other travelers. They also help sustain the nearby communities in the area.

For campers planning to stay the night, you can bring your tent or rent from MPNR. They also offer nature-centric activities like hiking, river walking, and tree-planting if you want to make the most of your visit! Their other amenities include a swimming pool, nature playscape, a game room, cabanas and gazebos, and shower facilities.

3. 3 Springs Mountain Park

Another campsite near Manila that you can visit is 3 Springs Mountain Park. Situated in Tanay, Rizal, you won’t believe that this kind of nature escape is just a couple of hours from Manila! Here, you’ll be surrounded by a large expanse of greenery and beautiful views of the Sierra Madre Mountain Range.

3 Springs welcomes day-trippers and companies or schools who want to have a team-building activity close to Mother Nature. Campers can sleep under the stars and get access to their facilities, including a multi-purpose hall, open areas, shower halls, and a spring water pool.

4. Lambingan Hills

Lambingan Hills is another hidden gem located in Tanay, Rizal. It’s a favorite among day-trippers because of its cheap fees and very Instagrammable views! Their collection of brightly colored Celosia flowers will surely get your attention while you’re here.

As for their camping accommodations, it’s easily accessible with just a 15-minute hike from the parking area. You can bring your tents and set up camp at any of their designated campsites. Pets are welcome here as well!

5. Kaliraya Surf Kamp

Kaliraya Surf Kamp is another great option for campers heading to Laguna. What makes it extra special is its proximity to Caliraya Lake, so you can set your tent close by and enjoy the refreshing lakeside atmosphere. Thanks to its wide-open space, campers who plan to bring their vehicles can also conveniently park their car near the campsite!

As for the activities, guests are more than welcome to take advantage of Caliraya Lake. For a minimal fee, you can rent a jet ski, speedboat, or kayak while here. Basic amenities like a restroom and running water are available for guests as well. Kaliraya Surf Kamp is also pet-friendly so you don’t have to worry about leaving your furry friends behind!

6. Kwentong Dagat

If you prefer to camp by the beach, head on over to Kwentong Dagat in Zambales! While this campsite near Manila became well-known for its all-vegan dining options and its picture-worthy glamping kubos, campers are welcome to set up camp - and even rent out tents - here, too! The resort's menu, on the other hand, is filled with vegan dishes inspired by favorite Filipino delicacies.

Although their unique bahay kubo rooms are tempting to stay in, they also have campsites for adventurers at heart. Camping at Kwentong Dagat comes with a light breakfast, access to their outdoor kitchen and equipment, shared bathrooms, plus basic toiletries. Kwentong Dagat

7. WK Forest Reserve and Campgrounds

Serious campers will have an unforgettable time at WK Forest Reserve and Campgrounds. Situated in Tanay, Rizal, WK prides itself in providing an old-school camping experience to its visitors, hence reservations are strongly recommended to avoid overcrowding. To stay true to their mission, you won’t find fancy amenities here, but just a simple comfort room and shower.

To access WK’s campsite, you’ll need to cross six rivers in the middle of a forest, so bringing a 4x4 type vehicle or something similar will be required. What you’ll get is incomparable peace and quiet under a sky full of stars.

8. Pili Paninap Farms

If you’re planning a family getaway, camping is still possible at Pili Paninap Farms. This family-owned estate in Rizal offers plenty of lodging options and a wide range of nature activities. Hikers planning to explore the Umiray River and the Daraitan Summit and caves can also make Pili Paninap their starting point.

As for facilities, young ones will enjoy Pili Paninap’s treehouse, swing, horseback riding activity, or a visit to the nearby Sampaloc River. Adults are welcome to share some drinks around a bonfire or try their all-natural products.

9. Jungle Base Firing Range & 4x4 Center

For daredevils who love a combination of camping and off-roading, an overnight stay at the Jungle Base Firing Range & 4x4 Center in Tanay, Rizal is a solid choice. This campsite was formerly a training ground for the 2nd Infantry Division of the Philippine Army.

The road going to Jungle Base’s campsite consists of muddy and rocky terrain, therefore an off-roading capable vehicle is required. But once you’ve arrived at the campsite hidden in the foothills of Sierra Madre, you’ll forget you even went through all that trouble. Because the site is situated in the middle of the jungle, there are no facilities in the area, and you’ll need to bring your gear.

10. Minalungao National Park

Albeit farther from Manila, Minalungao National Park is still worth the drive. This 2,000-hectare beauty in Nueva Ecija is known for its jaw-dropping rock formations surrounding the blue waters of the Peñaranda River. It’s a beloved family destination, where you can grill by the river and try water sports like swimming, rafting, and cliff diving.

Camping here is also possible as there are designated camping areas within Minalungao National Park where you can pitch a tent and stay for the night. Best to ask the staff in the area for guidance.

11. Kampo ni Juan

If you’ve been to every campsite in Rizal and want a change of scenery, Kampo ni Juan in Bulacan can be your next camping destination. This relatively new site offers cabins for visitors who don't want to bring their camping equipment. However, areas for tent-pitching are also permitted here.

Due to its relatively new status, facilities may be limited at Kampo ni Juan. However, it still makes for the perfect jump-off point for your Bulacan adventures! For those who want to make the most of their journey to Bulacan, you can also visit nearby attractions including Talon Zamora, Talon Pari Falls, Gulod Paradise, and more!

12. Singalong Nature Campsite Hill

Singalong Nature Campsite Hill in Rizal prides itself in providing a rural camping experience for its visitors. A stay here will start with a 30-minute beginner-friendly trek, an indication that you’re going off the grid! Once you’ve arrived at the campsite, you will feast your eyes at nothing but verdant greenery and a majestic view of the Sierra Madre Mountain Range!

When you camp at Singalong, tents and beddings, plus access to their facilities like showers and bathrooms will be included. You can also maximize your visit and try their kawa herbal bath or check out their mini-falls and creek close by.
