An enriching historical and cultural ruins to visit. You must enter the Xiyanglou Area whereby there is a Labyrinth, famous 十二生肖statues and Western Buildings ruins. It’s also a beautiful garden for trail and lake for boat rides.
The entrance guidance from Klook is from Nan Meng... Cos it is directly beside the subway exit. But if you could enter from dong meng it is better cos dong meng ( 1.5 km away from the subway exit) is near the main attractions.
Yuanmingyuan is most beautiful in autumn. Although it was partly destroyed by the coalition forces, its desolation still evokes great things. I really hope that the Chinese government and people can restore the entire Yuanmingyuan to its original state.
Place is packed with people during weekends and highly recommended to get this pass in advance. Do not just get the admission tickets and get the pass instead because that will allow you to see the ruins.
hassle free to buy the ticket in advance from Klook, it’s good and nice place to stroll around as we went during October, nice breeze and scenery~
Great heritage place and history for Yuen Ming Yuan. can understand the history war on western country to China country.
The garden overall too big. For the exit entrance need walk 1.6Km but the entrance very fast using qr code.
It is very convenient to buy tickets in Taiwan. Although it is a bit expensive, you can just scan the QR code to enter and exit. Since most of the buildings in the Old Summer Palace have collapsed, the site is ruins and broken tiles. Travelers with little time are recommended to go directly to the Changchun Park in the rear, otherwise you can exit from the subway. It takes more than 5,000 steps to walk from the east gate to Changchun Garden!

History buffs visiting Beijing shouldn't pass up the chance to see a piece of Chinese history. Northwest in Beijing lies the Old Summer Garden, also known as the Ruins of Yuanmingyuan. Built all the way in the Qing Dynasty in 1709, this massive pleasure garden has been a place of tranquility and enjoyment. Spanning 350 hectares, you might not even be able to cover it all. Your visit will show you the marvels of Yuanmingyuan, one of three areas in the garden originally. While many of the attractions around the garden were destroyed back in 1980, its the ruins that make the garden so ethereal. It maintains the features and characteristics of Chinese architecture and design that come from that time period. It remains a delightful place to relax and meditate, taking in the clean air and scenic sites. At the same time, you can learn about Chinese history when you go see the reconstruction of the site in all its glory in the exhibition hall. It's an opportunity to visit to get away from the
