It was a fantastic first day in Kyoto! We started the morning with a walking food tour through Nishiki Market, sampling all sorts of delicious sweet and savory treats. Our guide, Hiraku, was absolutely wonderful—so enthusiastic, friendly, and full of fun local stories. He introduced us to so many hidden gems we never would’ve found on our own and explained the background of each dish in such a fun, engaging way. We loved learning about Kyoto’s culinary traditions and tasting everything from croquet and mochi to Kyoto’s traditional dishes. The tour was well-paced, generous in portions, and the perfect introduction to Kyoto’s food scene. Highly recommend this tour—and Hiraku—to anyone visiting Kyoto for the first time!
fantastic! highly recommend. all good samples were included. yummy lunch at the end. guide was super knowledgeable! and swerved every question we had. would recommend
My girlfriend and I were delighted to take this tour of the Gion district and Nishiki Market with our guide, Amy-san! Amy-san showed us the heart of the district, sharing the history of geishas and maiko (whom we even saw during the tour), along with a savory and sweet tasting that amazed our taste buds! We highly recommend this tour, especially with Amy-san as your guide! 😊
A lovely morning walk filled with fun and facts around the Marketplace. Highly recommend this tour! Yuki was an excellent guide.
Our group of 4 had such an amazing tour with Nori! He had so many fascinating facts to share about Kyoto, and really gave us an inside look at life and culture here. Of course this was a good tour, so would be remiss if I didn’t talk about how much amazing food we experienced in and around Nishiki Market. We had cucumber, mochi, spices, octopus, red bean pastry, soy doughnuts, tofu skin, and of course an amazing lunch in a really cool restaurant (Omo cafe). 11/10 would recommend and would happily walk with Nori once more.
Thought this was a fun tour around the market. Got to see and taste a bunch of different things, and the brunch was very nice and relaxing. Yusuke was an excellent guide, taking us in and around the area. Plus he gave us some tips for food and shopping in Kyoto and Osaka!
Excellenr tour with an amazing guide. We loved how kind and knowledgeable Mich was and how she led us to so many great places. This tour was a highlight of our trip to Kyoto and I would love to go on another tour with Mich.
This was a great walking tour of the market. the guide provided us with historic insights to the market which was great! we had snacks and a great lunch together as a group. I would recommend this tour without any hesitation!
The guide was such a pleasant young man. He was keen to give as much information about the market and the surrounding culture. he made sure that everyone was following his instructions and information and was happy to learn about our cultures as well while having lunch. The food tastings were also great. I highly recommend!
Because the other people didn’t show up my food-tour became a private tour, lucky me! Yuki is a great storyteller and conversationalist, i had a great time
