Kamikochi & Matsumoto Castle One Day Tour from Nagano/Matsumoto

You could tell Jens put a lot of thought into every little detail, especially in planning the tour around the weather. He was patient, engaging, and really intentional with how he guided and took care of us. 10/10 would recommend!

We had an incredible time on the Kamikochi tour! Our guide, Shin, was exceptionally knowledgeable and shared fascinating insights about Matsumoto and its castle, even using pictures slides for clarity. The breathtaking views of the Alps and vibrant autumn foliage during our walk in Kamikochi left us in awe. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to experience Japan’s natural beauty and rich history! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Buying a tour like this makes it convenient for people who don't have the information to travel to see Matsumoto Castle and Kamikochi Park. It's very convenient. It's easy to meet at the train station, the meeting point, and then there'll be a tour bus with an English-speaking guide. Who was very polite and very knowledgeable. I have only one criticism: the driver makes a fuss and turns off the air conditioning. Passengers were not asked if it was hot or cold. But everything else is good. Recommended.

I highly recommend it, I booked it 2 days before and was lucky to have it. the trip was well organized with a very experienced guide. it was better than expected. and better to arrange other trips with snow monkey resort 🐒

Matsumoto castle and kamikochi both were wonderful. The tour was really good. pick up and drop was smooth too.

The Matsumoto itinerary was excellent, but Kamikochi felt very rushed. It took over an hour to walk from Taisho Pond to Kamikochi, and our guide walked very quickly. We were quite exhausted trying to keep up, and because the ground was uneven, we had to constantly watch our footing, leaving no time to properly enjoy the scenery along the way, which was a shame. Once we arrived at Kamikochi, we had to transfer to a bus for Takayama, so there was no time to explore Kamikochi itself. We could only quickly snap a few photos before leaving. It felt like we went to Kamikochi but didn't really experience it... However, I really appreciated our guide Nadine's detailed explanations and the games on the bus (writing everyone's names in Japanese). She was very kind, always smiling, and just wonderful.

I don't think I can really convey how awesome our tour was. it all starts with the guide, our guide Endo was the most sincere and knowledgeable local who invited us into his part of the world with open arms. we were lucky enough to have only the 2 of us on tour so it was really personal. the temple/town was incredible with such strong history of peace and war, the hike was unreal "very easy" fyi. but what a beautiful part of the world. thank you Endo for an incredible time, wish to see you again

A must see tour in Nagano area! Our tour guide, Shin, was very enthusiastic to explain the history of Matsumoto castle and attractions in Kamikochi, which made us to appreciate more these attractions. We were also fortunate to experience a sunny weather during our tour, which made the surroundings in Kamikochi more vivid.

We picked up the tour from Matsumoto and were really happy we waited to see the castle with Tamio, our guide. It was the Culture Day holiday in Japan and the lines were very long, but our group was ushered right in. Tamio's knowledge of the castle and history added so much to the experience. The Kamicochi tour was all I hoped for with beautiful scenery both at the park and on the bus ride there. We even saw a troupe of wild monkeys as the bus was leaving the park! The transport bus was very nice, new and comfortable. It was a great day!
