Review for: Chef's Choice Lunch Course (with reservation)

Meals are set meals using seasonal ingredients. Every dish is amazing and can be enjoyed with all five senses. Ornate vessels for serving food are both beautiful and enhance the taste of the food. The owner was very friendly and explained the dishes we had in English. The environment is warm and friendly, yet feels authentic. We visited this Michelin award-winning restaurant in Gion, Kyoto and had an amazing experience!

Review for: Chef's Choice Lunch Course (with reservation)

This is truly the best Japanese food experience. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to experience Japanese food. Dishes that make full use of the natural flavors of the ingredients, such as soups made with seasonal vegetables, fresh sashimi, and grilled fish, are unforgettable. The rice cooked in the clay pot is chewy and sweet. This is the first time we have eaten such delicious rice. That was a very meaningful time!

Review for: Chef's Choice Dinner Course "SHIN" (with reservation)

Absolutely 100 points. The boss is friends with the boss of Longyin. The boss speaks very good English so we can chat happily throughout the whole process. The dishes are also very delicious and beautiful, not worse than Longyin. I will go there again next time.

Review for: Chef's Choice Lunch Course (with reservation)

It was a very good experience. I experienced Kaiseki cuisine on the second day of my trip to Kyoto. The chef explained the composition and name of each dish in fluent English. I was especially grateful that we went at the wrong time, but we had already left Kyoto according to the original schedule. When various changes to the date and even the opening time were not suitable for our Shinkansen, the chef temporarily added us to the same night. I am really grateful. In the glimpse of Kyoto in these few days, this is definitely one of the reasons why I will come to Kyoto again. Next time I will pay attention to the time!

Review for: Chef's Choice Dinner Course "JIKI" (with reservation)

The location is very good, near Yasaka Shrine. The boss is very enthusiastic and communicates in English throughout the whole process. The ingredients are very rich, and there is a little more rice at the end, so you can take it away.

Kyo Kaiseki KINMATA (近又) in Kyoto

Established in 1801, the first generation was from Omiya, and was called Omiya Matabachi. At first, he opened "Omiya" on the hexagonal string in Kazutani-cho. At that time, it was the usual place for drug dealers in Omiya. The two-story wooden building, the entrance made of red shells, the bamboo garden, and the cypress bath with an umbrella-shaped ceiling are typical of Kyoto townhouses for more than 200 years. It is still open for business as usual.
