Reviews summaryTickets and tour vouchers were easily obtained. The station staff directed us to Platform B to wait for the tour guide to lead us onto the bus. Sitting upstairs on the double-decker bus provided a better view for the journey. The first stop was Afsluitdijk for a brief 30-minute stay, to learn about the Dutch dam engineering technology that balances the separation of sea and land. The second stop was Giethoorn, first with a traditional 1-hour boat ride, followed by a very generous 2.5 hours of free time to stroll along the small bridges and waterways. Overall, a very satisfying experience, recommended for travelers who don't want to go on their own but want to spend more time in Giethoorn.
I love this wonderful tour in Chinese. Mr. Deng is an experienced tour guide who knows a lot of history and plans the itinerary well. The Dutch beef noodles for lunch were nostalgic, tasty, and nice because we had not enjoyed Asian food in two weeks. The landscape was so beautiful, it was like walking in a storybook. I loved this relaxing tour and our great tour guide! I strongly recommend it if you'd like a customized trip or a journey to the northern Netherlands.
We joined the Zaanse Schans and Giethoorn day tour, which was more time-saving and convenient compared to traveling independently. The private car picked us up and dropped us off at the hotel, saving us the time of transferring by train and bus, allowing us to visit two classic attractions on the same day, which is equivalent to freeing up an extra day to go to other places. Of course, if you choose to take the train, you will have a unique experience, but the efficiency of the tour group is higher. Our tour guide, Suri, explained the characteristics of the two attractions in detail and shared a lot about the history, culture, and customs of the Netherlands. The explanation was clear and vivid, and we gained a lot. In Zaanse Schans, we visited the cheese factory and the clog factory, and it was free of charge throughout. We were able to watch the production process and taste the authentic flavors. In Giethoorn, we took a canal boat. The weather was excellent that day, and the scenery of the lake and mountains reflected the idyllic scenery along the way, which was very charming. Our tour guide Suri drove the boat himself, and we also had the opportunity to try driving ourselves, which was a very unforgettable experience. Whether it is the traditional windmills and crafts, or the beautiful scenery of the water town, these two places show the characteristics of the Netherlands. If you plan to travel to Amsterdam, this route is a must-go option, highly recommended!
This is Tours & Tickets' day trip itinerary, to Amsterdam Central Station Tours & Tickets after collecting tickets to the 1st floor B platform assembly to take a double-decker bus, the guide on the bus will sometimes introduce the surrounding special attractions will history, but usually very surprising, if sleeping may be suddenly scared 😂. The trip will first stop at Afsluitdijk for 15 minutes to see the dam separating the sea from the lake, the day happened to encounter the bridge open to let the boats through so there was a wait. After arriving at the village, the tour guide has carefully explained the history and culture of the village. After the cruise, there will be about two and a half hours of free time. The architecture of Giethoorn has its own characteristics, so it's quite relaxing to stroll around.
The day before, the travel agency will take the initiative to contact the pick-up, which is quite reassuring. Unfortunately, we can't drive into the place where we live, so we have to walk to the designated place to meet. The bad weather on that day is a pity. When we were on the boat in Giethoorn, the tour guide was helping to drive the boat and didn't take the initiative to take pictures for us. We kept asking for it, otherwise the photos of the whole trip on the boat might be gone, but we can take a small boat and experience driving in the big lake, which is a plus. We were full that day, a total of eight people. But because the nine-seater has three rows of chairs, one pair will inevitably be separated to sit, I think this will also be discounted in the travel experience, after all, a trip is not cheap.
The tour guide's proactive communication and itinerary arrangements were excellent. They also provided a great introduction to the historical background and cultural aspects of the Netherlands, demonstrating high professionalism. The time management was also impeccable.
Enjoyed the coziness of the small group of 8 of us, which allowed for flexibility in the tour. Despite the long drive, our guide (and driver) Simon was energetic throughout. His quick thinking also allowed us to avoid the crowds at Zaanse Schans, which was much appreciated when the crowds came in droves! At Giethoorn, the boat ride is a must to enjoy the history and true meaning of the town, which looks like a scene from a children's storybook. Highly recommended and we rated it as one of our favourite tours!
The private car transfer is very comfortable, and the tour guide's introduction is difficult to experience when traveling independently. I really like the itinerary of Windmill Village and Giethoorn. The scenery is beautiful and the cruise experience is very special. I didn't expect that there is such a big lake hidden behind the entrance of the small village. , the Afsluydijk Embankment is currently under renovation and is expected to be completed in 2026. It will be more beautiful to go there until then! In addition, because there were no other tourists in the Chinese group this time, we originally thought it would be a waste, but the travel agency helped us form a separate group. After a good experience, we felt more at ease when booking the itinerary! In addition, I also highly recommend the Chinese tour guide Su Rui this time. He was very friendly and introduced in detail. He talked with the tour guide about the cultural differences between Asia and Europe. It was a very interesting experience!
I can’t recommend Pete enough as a tour guide! He has such a deep knowledge of not only Amsterdam and the places we visited but also showed genuine interest in the backgrounds of each of his tourists. His insights into the history and culture of the city were fascinating, and his stories kept me completely engaged—I could honestly listen to him talk all day. On top of that, he has a fantastic sense of humor that made the whole experience even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a tour guide who goes above and beyond, Pete is your guy!
Very convenient to book this tour via Klook. The tour guide is knowledgeable and able to speak English. Giethoorn is a beautiful place to explore around and with the boat rides, it makes the experience even more unique. recommend this tour!
