Reviews
We enjoyed our time in Giethoorn with this tour from Amsterdam Noord. Our driver and guide Mike was really friendly and patient. He was given clear instructions and useful information for us. Though the weather could be better, but it didn't effect giethoorn charm and joining this tour means it save our time from changing public transport and also to choose the boat company. The guide of the one hour boat tour also very informative and entertaining. After the boat tour, we still had around 2 hours free time to stroll along the beautiful village.
Extremely satisfied! The itinerary was perfectly planned. Our driver and tour guide was very humorous, chatting and greeting everyone. His driving was also very reassuring. We had a 1-hour boat tour in Giethoorn, plus nearly 3 hours of free time, which was more than enough. We were able to explore at a leisurely pace and still had time to enjoy a drink and a snack. We were also given a complimentary drink, redeemable at the cheese shop.
Giethoorn has a beautiful environment, and the boat captain was witty and humorous, making the one-hour trip very enjoyable. The tour bus arrangements were also very good, though the journey was a bit long, and traffic was quite heavy on the way back, taking almost two hours to return to the city. Overall, Giethoorn is a must-visit destination when in Amsterdam.
Highly recommend this tour! The driver also acted as our guide on the bus, and I really appreciated that he didn't talk the entire time, giving us some quiet time to rest during the journey. The bus ride was about 90 minutes, followed by a lovely 50-minute boat ride. We had plenty of free time to explore on our own until we had to meet back at the bus at 14:30. We arrived back in Amsterdam by 16:20, which was perfect because it left us with plenty of time to continue exploring the city in the late afternoon. Everything went very smoothly and was perfectly organized.
Great tour, easy pickup and it arrived earlier than other tours, so the area was less crowded. The boat captain was a very jolly guy, and we enjoyed the overall experience a lot. I highly recommend it.
This day trip to Giethoorn was absolutely fantastic! From the very beginning, our guide and driver was incredibly welcoming, instantly putting everyone at ease with his friendly greetings. On the way to Giethoorn, he thoughtfully explained the passing scenery and shared interesting tidbits about Dutch culture, making the journey anything but boring. Upon arrival, he led us to a local cheese shop, explaining the production process and highlighting key tasting notes, giving us a deeper understanding of Dutch cheese culture. He even kindly informed us that we could use the restrooms at the restaurant next door by mentioning his name – attention to detail was top-notch! The canal tour that followed was definitely a highlight of the trip. The guide on the boat was funny and engaging, and we enjoyed the fairytale village surrounded by greenery and waterways, making us feel like we were stepping into a postcard. The one-hour boat ride flew by, and afterwards, we had free time to wander through the village, take photos, and enjoy coffee. When the weather is clear, the reflections of the houses and bridges in the water are breathtakingly beautiful, making every photo look like a postcard. The entire trip was perfectly paced, the guide was thoughtful and gave lively explanations, and the arrangements were very smooth. It was a perfect experience that was both educational and relaxing. Five-star rating, highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience the charm of the Netherlands!
The itinerary was thoughtfully planned, and our guide, Mike, was professional, friendly, and provided clear and engaging explanations. The boat tour was a delightful experience with picturesque scenery, and the views of Giethoorn were unforgettable. The transportation was punctual and comfortable. Overall, the experience exceeded expectations, and I highly recommend it!
Joining this tour to Giethoorn is very convenient… The tour guide and driver are very friendly… The captain's commentary during the one-hour canal cruise is humorous and engaging… Plenty of free time is provided.
The itinerary was well-paced, and the tour guide was very professional. The point-to-point transportation was convenient, and the time spent in Giethoorn was more than sufficient. Highly recommend it to you all.
The meeting point is conveniently located inside the subway station. The tour leader was friendly and drove safely. Upon arrival, we first took a boat tour, followed by free time, which was ample.
