Tateyama Kurobe Snow Wall 2026 Festival 1 Day Bus Tour from Nagoya

This was one of the best experiences during our trip. Everything was well-organized and hassle-free since transportation was already arranged. The views along the alpine route were absolutely breathtaking especially the snow wall. Definitely worth it if you want to experience the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route without the stress of planning everything on your own.

This is a 1-Day Tour of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. The tour meeting point is easy to find. Upon arrival, simply register with the staff and wait nearby. When it's time, the staff will guide you to the bus. Along the way, there will be approximately 2-3 rest stops, each lasting about 20-30 minutes, with restrooms and shops to purchase snacks or drinks. For lunch, the tour provides bento boxes, which can be eaten on the bus. Once you reach the Alpine Route area, you'll have about 1 hour and 40 minutes to 2 hours of free time. You can enjoy the views, take photos, or explore nearby attractions at your leisure, but please be mindful of the time. Overall, this is a convenient option, suitable for those who prefer not to drive themselves. The travel time is quite long. The outbound journey is approximately 5.5 hours, with about 2 hours for sightseeing. The bus will stop at Murodo. The return journey is also about 5.5 hours (including rest stops), arriving back in Nagoya at 9:00 PM. The main drawback is the long bus ride, and the seats cannot be reclined to avoid disturbing passengers behind you. Be sure to bring a jacket, snacks, and drinks, as you can leave your belongings on the bus since the same bus is used throughout the entire trip.

We went in May 1st and the snow wall was 12m high, temperature at 2 C. Unfortunately the weather was rainy. Make sure to wear warm an waterproof clothes and umbrella, especially if you are not comfy with cold weather. On the bright side we were still able to see and take pictures at the snow wall. Will plan to see it again in my next Nagoya trip in Spring. Hopefully we'll get clear blue skies by then. Tour guides mainly spoke in japanese, with some english for important reminders. Recorded audio in English was provided during the long trip. Would be nice if the introduction video of the Tateyama Alpine Route was also played in English or was played with english subtitles. Food was okay but a bit cold which we ate in the bus. Ride was smooth with bus stops every 1.5-2hrs. Make use of the bus stops at the service area to get a toilet break or buy some snacks or souvenirs. Overall, it's convenient for a less hectic trip to Tateyama Snow Wall.

Our tour guide, Ms. Noda, and the driver were both very polite. They gave clear instructions on when to board the bus, and important information was broadcast via machine in Mandarin, English, and Korean. They also approached non-Japanese customers to provide written reminders in Chinese. The itinerary itself wasn't particularly special, as it simply followed the mountain road. Two hours at Murodo was definitely not enough time, though it was sufficient if you only wanted to see the Snow Wall and buy souvenirs there. Lunch was a bento box; the value for money would be even better if a light dinner was also provided. The 'Alpine Village' mentioned in the itinerary was actually a rest stop on the way there, and of course, it was much less crowded on the return journey. The driver drove very steadily, and there was always a rest stop to stretch our legs after about 1.5 hours of driving.

as expected, it was a long bus ride going to tateyama and getting back. we enjoyed the snow although it was rainy, cloudy and snow wall was closed because of the bad weather. the tour guide was friendly. we loved the bento lunch, it was fulfilling.

The journey was well-planned, featuring two scheduled bus breaks each way. Although we encountered heavy fog during our trip, it cleared up slightly toward the end of our visit.

The meeting point was convenient, the tour guide was attentive and responsible, and the driver's skills were safe and steady. Although the journey involved a long drive, there were several stops for breaks, which was very important for stretching our legs. Besides using the restrooms, we also got to try local specialties and could even buy more on the way back. My only regret is that the stops couldn't have been a little longer. Overall, I was very satisfied with the day trip arranged by HIS, and I would definitely join them again on my next visit to Nagoya.

Since it was a tour organized by a Japanese travel agency, I was quite worried because I don't speak Japanese well. However, it turned out to be a trip where I had absolutely no need to worry. The guide was very polite and considerate, providing clear instructions to ensure everyone could follow along, and led the group gently. Thanks to this, even with long travel times, it wasn't too difficult. Although there were more Japanese participants, there were also other foreigners, so it wasn't an issue. They also provided translations in Chinese, English, and Korean, allowing us to travel without any problems.

It was raining when we had our tour so we weren’t able to go around Tateyama as much as we wanted. However, we still saw beautiful sceneries during our trip. The travel time was quite long (around 5hrs each way) which was tiring but would still go back to get the full experience next time.

The journey was very long, spend more than 10h on the road: departed at 8 am, reached there about 1.30 pm. Left at 3.40 pm, reached Nagoya at 9.20 pm. I would recommend staying 1N if time permits.
