- Shodoshima Daikannon: The 50-meter-tall giant statue of Kannon, also known as the "most beautiful Kannon statue in the world," is a landmark of Shodoshima. It is directly connected to the observation deck on the top floor by an elevator, offering a panoramic view of Shodoshima and the Seto Inland Sea.
- Kankakei Gorge: One of Japan’s three major gorges located in the Seto Inland Sea National Park. The ropeway connecting the summit and the foot of the mountain is popular as the only one in Japan where you can enjoy a view of the “sky, sea, and valley” at once. We will take you to the summit of Kankakei by bus, after which you can enjoy sightseeing and lunch at your leisure. Kankakei Ropeway If you wish to use the ropeway, it will be a one-way trip from the summit → the foot of the mountain (Kountei Station). Please return to the bus at Kountei Station. Please pay the fare on site. Customers who do not use the ropeway, please return to the bus after free time at the summit. We will head to the next sightseeing spot via the summit → the foot of the mountain (Kountei Station).
- Twenty-Four Eyes Movie Village: The movie village exhibits the open set used for filming “Twenty-Four Eyes,” released in 1987, which was a big hit depicting the tragedy of World War II. It’s as if you have time-traveled to the Showa era. Its retro feel has made it a popular photo spot in recent years.
- Tsukudani Shop “Ittokuan”… Stop by a shop selling soy sauce and tsukudani, which are Shodoshima’s specialties. It is located in “Hishio no Sato,” where soy sauce breweries and tsukudani shops have been lined up since the Edo period. Don’t forget to buy souvenirs.
- Olive Park: This park, with its olive groves, herb garden, Greek windmill, and the Seto Inland Sea spreading out below, offers a Mediterranean-like landscape and is famous for being the setting for the live-action film “Kiki’s Delivery Service.”

Reviews
A great travel experience to travel around the island. My tourist guide was a Japanese lady, she always with a smile and communicate well. I definitely recommend this jour
Upon arriving at Tonosho Port on Shodoshima Island via ferry or high-speed boat from Takamatsu Port, the ticket exchange location is right next to the pier. The tour bus guide is attentive and responsible, making the whole process very smooth. On the return trip, you'll pass Angel Road, and those who want to visit can disembark there to end the tour! I suggest Klook lower the price or offer more benefits, as there's a price difference compared to buying tickets on-site.
remind that you would need to get the bus tickets from the counter in advance. the tour is time saving and convenient, suitable for all ages!
Even when the price is changed to be higher after Apr 1, 2025, I still recommend this bus tour to all visitors to Shodoshima. The lady guide talked all the time, this me me wonder how strong and enthusiastic she is. Even I dont understand Japanese, but I know that she did her best to explain everything about the trip. She sang the song, and told the story also. One more thing, I wish we can spend thw time more at Olive garden.
For a day trip to Shodoshima's popular spots, I recommend joining a tour (take the ferry to Shodoshima on your own). If you don't need to spend too long at each location, the tour's schedule is well-managed and not too rushed. Although the tour doesn't include Angel Road, you can choose to get off at the International Hotel at the end of the tour and walk there. From there, it's about a 25-minute walk back to the port.
It was a very nice and comfortable tour, and most of the popular spots were visited as planned. The Japanese guide lady tried her best to introduce the island, even though many of us didn’t speak Japanese. The ending drama and singing were the best highlights of the trip. This tour is perfect for travelers who are only staying on the island for one day—highly recommended.
This is very suitable for travelers who are not on self-driving tours. Although the tour guide only understands Japanese, you can still feel her enthusiasm and care for foreigners. She clearly explained the meeting time, and you can also store large luggage on the tour bus for free. Moreover, there is an app for Chinese and English guided tours, which is very good.
The tour guide was very dedicated and enthusiastic in her introduction. Although there was a language barrier, we could feel her sense of responsibility. She even imitated the voices of characters when telling stories, and sang a song at the end! 👍🏻
Great, it's really great, it's a pity that the weather is not good, it's a pity, but it's still worth it. The experience is very fun and it's really great
I really like Shodoshima. There are not many people and it is very quiet. The locals are very friendly.
Good to know
