Reviews
The tour with Chen was excellent - seeing the countryside on the way to the temples and riding to them as they popped/appeared out of trees on our trails was a memorable and special experience. The included snacks and lunch were great additions of value, the bikes were sturdy and appropriate for the trails, and Chen’s knowledge of the history of Cambodia made it a great day!
my guide Chen was very knowledgeable and patiently took well care of me during the tour. he knows all the stories and history behind all the temples, even knows the animals like cats and otters that reside in the temple 😂 thank you Chen!
Truly great experience. Guide was very knowledgable, polite and showed me many side routes not overly occupied by tourists. My bicycle was almost new, very well maintained and prepared for day long trip. Lunch was included and it was really a treat of tasty local food. Overall highly recommend touring Angkor via bicycle with this tour operator.
The best part of my Indochina adventure. Exploring Angkor Wat by bike was really a bucketlist ride .. it was amazing
This is the highlight of my indochina trip so far. our guide was really helpful and very accommodating. siem reap is really bikeable and i highly recommend bike tours going around the city.
Interesting and wild but safe journey to visit Angkor Wat and temples. Our tour guide Bunvath is very professional and responsible and a good storyteller. The jungle cycling is high recommended way to know the local culture
Warning: This is NOT for the fainthearted. 30km bike around the trails of Angkor Wat is not easy. But we assure you it is really worth it! This was the highlight of our 12-day Indochina tour! We were able to witnessed the Angkor Wat up close. It was a challenging tour but we were really glad to enjoy and at the same time had our biking during our trip🙂
Grasshopper Adventures put together a great day for us and booking with Klook was as easy as always. When we arrived to the shop, our bikes had been preassigned based on the info we had to provide upon booking. This meant we could start right away. Our guide Moon, and his assistant, ensured we were safe at all times, especially when cycling on the busy roads. Cycling through the jungle was good fun, and it was lovely to get a different perspective of the sites. The cycle itself was fairly easy going - my fitness would be moderate - but although it's quite flat, it is bumpy at times! Definitely a great day out.
Great way to experience the temples. Not an awful lot of riding (30km) but still makes for a good active day where you can see awesome stuff. The tour guide was fun and helpful, although not excessively knowledgable about the history of the temples.
Very good experience riding bike around the temples. Our guides given a lot of details about the areas, looking after our safety on the roads, free lunch and water bottles supplied. Highly recommend if you can handle riding 30km in the day trip.
Good to know
Important Notes:
- This cycle is recommended for people with a reasonable level of fitness. However it is 30km on mainly flat tracks with numerous stops for photos, temple exploration and refreshments
- It is extremely important that you don't hand out gifts, sweets or money to children or villagers as this contributes to the begging cycle, creates jealousy issues and can cause problems
Insider Tips:
- Cambodia is warm throughout the year, so if you're caught out in the rainy season, the good news is you'll dry off very quickly! Keeping hydrated and protected from the sun is important at all times of year
What to Wear:
- Sturdy footwear like sneakers/trainers
- Comfortable clothing
- Sunglasses and a hat
- Bring a camera
