Ho Chi Minh City - Vung Tau by Hai Van Bus

I booked an airport pickup for 3:30 PM. At 3:15 PM, I received a call, and they came to look for me. It was good that they found me after I sent a selfie, but I think it would be easier if there was a way to input arrival flight details and terminal information. It was fortunate that I had a local SIM card connected. It took about 4 hours to get to Vung Tau because of heavy traffic. During a rest stop, they collected payment, but they didn't check the voucher and only confirmed after I told them I had already paid. I'd like to see this improved. Otherwise, the air conditioning worked well, and the seats were comfortable, so I was satisfied. A fellow passenger on the bus was listening to social media loudly, which was incredibly noisy; I wonder if that's part of Vietnamese culture.

Notes for Korean travelers: 1. After completing your reservation, please send a message first via WhatsApp to +84 91 900 67 63. 2. After exiting the airport, go to the designated pickup location, GF12. 3. This is not a private vehicle; you will be sharing the ride with other passengers. 4. It feels like a taxi bus. Instead of following a fixed route, passengers are dropped off where they request. Please mention your drop-off location in advance. 5. The air conditioning is not just strong, it is freezing. 6. There is a stop at a makeshift rest area along the way.

Shared van service was great. No issues. About a 20 minute break at a rest area where you could purchase something to eat or drink. The only thing odd was us meeting up with the van from where if first departs. Even the workers seemed surprised to see us there. Everyone else was picked up at their hotel or a designated meeting point. Perhaps they booked directly and our location was due to third party Klook reservation. Not an issue for us, just seemed odd. Highly recommend Hai Van service though.

This was our first trip from Ho Chi Minh City to Vung Tau with my parents. The massage chairs were great, and we stopped at a rest area in the middle, so there was no need to worry about restrooms. It was a very comfortable journey, and it was even better that they dropped us off right in front of our hotel in Vung Tau. I plan to use this service again when returning to Ho Chi Minh City. I highly recommend it for Koreans traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to Vung Tau.

I used this service to travel from Vung Tau to Tan Son Nhat International Airport. The pickup location in Vung Tau was inconvenient and difficult to find on Google Maps, so I contacted the bus company. They informed me that I could specify a location, so I requested the Imperial Hotel. There was a heavy thunderstorm exactly at the pickup time, so I was glad I chose the hotel. I wish Klook would provide clearer instructions.

Based on my experience, I am writing down some areas for improvement and helpful tips. First of all, I had booked a 9-seater Royal limousine departing from Tan Son Nhat Airport at 6:00 AM, but I safely arrived in Vung Tau riding an 11-seater instead. I had not received any communication via WhatsApp—the number I provided during booking—up until the day of departure. After exiting the international arrivals hall, there is a Hai Van booth across the road in the middle, near pillar GF12 on the right, but there was no staff member there. Around 5:50 AM, an employee who uses that booth showed up, and when I asked, they told me to go to the Hai Van booth at the domestic terminal. I went to the Hai Van booth in front of B-05, but that one was closed and unmanned as well. Ultimately, a bit past 6:00 AM, the limousine driver contacted me via WhatsApp, and after sharing my location near B-05, I boarded the vehicle. I probably could have caught it even if I had stayed at the international terminal. Seating was on a first-come, first-served basis in any available seat. After departing from the airport, the vehicle stops at two Hai Van offices in Ho Chi Minh City before setting off. Fares are collected at a midpoint rest stop, though I wasn't asked for mine. Once we entered downtown Vung Tau, the driver asked for my hotel name and dropped me off right at the hotel.

You came directly to the Vung Tau Malibu Hotel and made it to the airport just fine! It took about two and a half hours to get to Vung Tau, but since we were going to Ho Chi Minh City and then to the airport on the way back, it seemed to take about three and a half hours. So, if you're booking, you might want to calculate your departure flight schedule carefully. :)

The vehicle was very comfortable and new! This is definitely our top choice! It would be even more reassuring if there was a WhatsApp double confirmation of the information after the booking is confirmed.

Price: The price is affordable, and there will be a rest stop halfway through, highly recommended.

The limousine was comfortable and excellent. I arrived in the early morning and traveled smoothly by limousine.
