Review for: Lake Toya & Noboribetsu Hell Valley Full-Day Tour

This was my first time on a one-day tour, and the experience was fantastic! We departed from Sapporo and visited the Hill of the Buddha, Jozankei, Lake Toya, and Noboribetsu Hell Valley. Each stop had its own unique charm. Our tour guide, Ms. Zhou, was especially kind and professional throughout the entire trip. She shared the history, culture, and unique features of each place with us. We definitely wouldn't have had such a great experience if we had come on our own. She also took wonderful photos! I'm truly grateful to her. I highly recommend this tour, and I'll definitely book a similar one-day tour next time I visit.

Leo was an excellent guide with the right amount of personal touch. He shared the history and the significance of each spot that we visited, and also recommended the special cuisine of the place and any souvenir specific to that place if we were interested. He was knowledgeable and very accommodating too. When we reached Lake Toya for lunch, he realised place was very crowded due to an Anime festival and he gave extra time for lunch. He would take care of each member in the trip. Leo was the reason that we regained confidence in Klook again since we had a terrible experience with another guide in a previous tour and did not want to book any further trips with Klook, but went ahead with this trip since it was pre booked. We started with a lot of apprehension after the previous experience, but soon realised that the Otaru, Cape Kamui experience was spoiled due to the guide and not Klook

Mr. Qian, our driver and guide, planned the day perfectly. We had ample time at each attraction, and during the longer drives between some sites, I even fell asleep in the car. When I woke up, I saw Mr. Qian driving very attentively, which made us feel very safe. Additionally, I have a small suggestion: I personally feel that Futami Park in Jozankei could be removed from the itinerary, and that time could be added to other attractions. Overall, participating in this small group tour made the experience even more comfortable.

Review for: Lake Toya & Noboribetsu Hell Valley Full-Day Tour

I went on this trip with a friend and I’m so glad I did as there wasn’t much atmosphere to the tour so I would have been bored if I was on my own. It was very impressive that our guide was effortlessly doing the tour in 3 languages but it did mean that, what little information we were given, felt was very scripted and lacked personality. I’m used to tours where we can talk to the guide and learn a lot so this was a bit disappointing. Something to note, no tickets are included so you will have to pay extra to see the Buddha, the ropeway and the bear ranch. We did enjoy ourselves and highly recommend hiring a pedalo during the lunch break at Lake Toya (there weren’t many places around to eat anyway!) and the corn at the ropeway was delicious!
