Tokyo Hitachi Seaside Park & Oarai Isosaki Shrine Day Trip (including flower viewing)

Starting from Shinjuku Station, it's about a 2-hour journey. Our first stop was Oarai Isosaki Shrine for photos, where we stayed for about 1 hour. The second stop was Nakaminato Fish Market. Due to the holiday, it was very crowded, and there were long lines everywhere, so we stayed for approximately 1 hour. The final stop was Hitachi Seaside Park. Admission was self-paid at 800 yen, and we stayed for about 2 hours.

The trip stops at 3 locations. The bus departed on time, and the tour guide provided thorough instructions. The park is very beautiful, but because it's so large, this tour only allows enough time to visit the green flower hill area; it's not possible to see the entire park.

This was my first group tour here, and the overall experience was excellent. We got lost and were late for our scheduled meeting time, but our guide, Elsa, patiently directed us on how to get there and even waited for us at the station. Thanks to her, we were able to complete our last day of travel in Japan and see the stunning flower fields we had been looking forward to. I'm truly grateful! We're heading back to the U.S. tomorrow, and my friend and I have already said that next time we visit, we'd love to join Elsa's tour again. we went to experience the spring season and see the nemophila and although we were worried that visiting on 22 April 2026 was a little late due to early spring in japan this year, we still have a magnificent time. Autumn is also a good experience when kochia plants are starting to change colour.

Driver Yang was very dedicated; he contacted us the day before. He started on time, and this time there were only 5 of us: my partner and I, plus a mother and her two children. The Oarai Fish Market was very appealing, and the seafood prices were excellent, but the 1.5-hour stop, including lunch, felt a bit rushed. Hitachi Seaside Park was quite disappointing because the blooming season was over, and it wasn't as spectacular or beautiful as advertised in the pictures. Basically, there were no flowers to see, so we just took a quick tour on the park tram.
