Lijiang 2-Day Small Group Meili Snow Mountain Sunrise Tour

Would recommend this tour if one requires a convenient and worry-free tour to see the beautiful sights between Lijiang and Shangri-La! 国国师傅 was determined to help us catch the Meili snow mountain views, letting us off at a viewpoint on day 1 to catch it and recommending places near our hotel for us to catch it agai, with sunrise, on day 2.

Solo traveling has a lot of limitations, so booking this tour was really great value for the money. Since there wasn't a tour guide, the driver and master were local Naxi people who took this group of a few people and introduced the scenery and customs of Lijiang and Shangri-La along the way. His driving skills were truly first-class, safe and stable 👍🏻. The itinerary was rich but not too tiring, with enough time for us to slowly acclimatize to the high altitude. I would join again next time I come to Yunnan 👍🏻.

This trip allowed us to travel and share experiences with newly acquainted companions, fulfilling everyone's wish to see the "Golden Mountain" sunrise. Thanks to Mr. Chen's many years of experience as both a guide and driver, we had a very enjoyable and safe journey. The recommendations and preparations for each attraction and duration of stay were more than sufficient. On the way back, we encountered snow accumulation on the ground, and he was able to handle the near-stuck situation with his years of experience. The men on the bus were mentally prepared to get out and help push, but in the end, it wasn't necessary 👍🏽. It was a breeze booking the trip as the staff guided us where and what time they would pick us up. The driver, Ah Gen, was friendly and helpful with our luggages. Appreciative that he took us to many sightseeing spots!

4/5 Itinerary & driver: The 2-day trip from Lijiang to Shangri-La offered stunning scenery and smooth driving, even with a two-hour delay due to construction on the road. The driver ensured a safe and comfortable journey. 2/5 Restaurant – Since it’s a self-guided tour and lunch isn’t included, I was expecting more food options. Unfortunately, we were dropped in a remote area with only one restaurant, which didn’t fit my dietary needs. It would be great if the tour could offer more flexibility or choices for meals or communicate the option in the next stops. 1/5 Amenities – Items listed as included, like water, warm clothes, were not provided. Oxygen has been provided at the end of day1. (3600m) 2.5/5 Hotel – I took business, The accommodation was basic, room can smell cigarette, and the vibe was a bit creepy. Overall, a scenic experience but improvements in organization and transparency would make it much better

The itinerary is packed, but some key attractions could use an extra 15 minutes. Tiger Leaping Gorge, for example, only has an hour allocated, and an extra 15 minutes would be beneficial. Also, the highlight, Shangri-La Ancient City, only has one hour for sightseeing, which includes lunch, and is simply not enough time. The travel agency should improve these planned itineraries. On the positive side, the national highway was blocked for two hours due to landslides, causing a significant delay in reaching Meili Snow Mountain. Thank you to the driver, whose excellent driving skills ensured our safe arrival. The scenery along the way was beautiful.

It's a long journey, but the driver safely took me to the tourist spot. You can enjoy the Ancient Tea Horse Road of Yunnan Province even in the car, and the sunrise is also spectacular. If you have the opportunity, be sure to participate and experience the Yellow Stone of China.

Self-guided tour so you will have enough time to look around. The driver was unable to speak English, so it would have been better if the team had sent the itinerary via WeChat. Nonetheless, the driver did his best to communicate. Aside from this, everything went smoothly. The hotel was nice, and the car was spacious and comfortable.
