Reviews
It was an amazing opportunity. The instructor was knowledgeable and made the process fun. Kids especially enjoyed tasting the ramen at the end. Overall, it was a delightful and educational experience. I highly recommend this experience to anyone interested in Japanese cuisine.
We (my husband, 13yo daughter, 11yo son and myself) had a wonderful experience painting our ceramic ramen bowls and then making our own bowl of ramen from scratch. The ramen was absolutely delicious, all the ingredients (soy sauce, noodles, stock etc) had been handmade in the main restaurant close by. The owner shared his techniques and made us feel very welcome. The venue is very new and well appointed. I would highly recommend this as an activity to do while in Kyoto!
What a morning! We had no idea what to expect when we went to this experience as it was still relatively new on Klook. So glad we took the opportunity to do this one! Shin (the founder of the restaurant and academy) is a cooking genius! The core ingredients for the ramen are all made from scratch in his restaurant, the recipe being the same one used in his Michelin recognised restaurant in Toronto. He teaches you about the cooking process and you assemble your own bowl of ramen. While you aren’t cooking from absolute scratch (you’d need 2 days with his method), you do learn about the full process and about the method in the kitchen after noodles and soup base have been made. The process was smooth and easy to understand as Shin was a great teacher whose English was clear. We also painted our own bowls which we then collected the next day. The ramen was the best we ate on the trip, and they took into consideration my allergy, though it might not be possible to accommodate all needs.
A fun activity for both kids and adults! The ramen cooking was very interactive and you get to bring home your own personalized ramen bowl. A great souvenir for your trip in Kyoto!
This was a fun experience and the ramen was amazing! The owner, Shin, was extremely nice and hospitable. They will fire your bowl and wrap it so that it is protected during travels too. Definitely recommend this experience!
My family (including kids ages 9 & 12) had such an incredible time painting our bowls and cooking the MOST delicious ramen ever. The owner, Shin, and his team are all so lovely and hospitable. I HIGHLY recommend this experience as it’s the perfect length of time, in a beautiful location and fun for all!
Is was an absolutely fantastic experience we had. I walked into the historical Kyoto Gion which is close to the Yasaka shrin, Kiyomizu -dera and more. My daughter and I enjoyed painting our customized Musoshin aprons which we took home as a souvenir and made tasty Ramen with the guidance by the owner Shin who is very patient, entertaining, perfect English and fun. I had a lot of ramen in Japan, and this bowl of Ramen is the BEST of all. The length of workshop was perfect to combine with our trip. I highly recommend if you are looking for the memorable trip to Kyoto. Over all 10/10
These guys are absolutely awesome! They not only accommodated to a change of my reservation on the same day- but they made sure to bring the whole experience!! They were very kind, personable and funny! There was no shortage in ensuring that memories were made and captured on your device for safekeeping! Not even to say the food was INCREDIBLE! We didn’t even get to photograph it- it was so good! Definently gives a newfound perspective on the art of ramen all around!
We had a problem at first because they hadn't received the reservation, but I called, and they came to assist us right away and were very attentive the whole time to ensure we were comfortable. The experience was very entertaining, and the ramen was exquisite, the best we've ever had. Recommended if you want to do something different in Japan.
