Reviews
A unique must-do experience if you love good food. We saw how parmigiano reggiano and prosciutto di parma were made, and we even got to try them fresh! Our guide Loris was very knowledgeable and funny.
This tour is definitely worth it! It's a small group tour, so you get a thorough understanding of the cheese-making process. The guide's explanation is very detailed and professional, and the tasting includes locally produced red and white wines, which I absolutely loved! My only small suggestion is that the tour consists of back-to-back activities, so I recommend bringing some bread or snacks with you.
I had a great time on this tour, but there are definitely a few things future guests should be aware of. To start, there’s a noticeable lack of info about who the operator is (I still don’t). Before the tour, the uncertainty felt a little uncomfortable — no car plate info, there’s no WhatsApp contact, and you do wonder if it’s legit or if you’re about to get sold off for your organs. Honestly, anything felt possible. That said, once things got going, the experience itself was great. It turned out to be a small group of just seven of us, which made the sharing intimate and personal. The guide and driver — who were the same person — handled everything smoothly and could speak English. The tasting was definitely the highlight of the whole tour, and the food overall was really good. This tour has a lot of potential, but clearer communication, proper contact options, and more transparency about the operator would make a huge difference. Trust the process and you’ll likely enjoy it!
It is a very small group, so the tour guide can introduce the whole production process in detail. The tour guide himself is also the successor of a cheese family, so he knows the whole process very well. On the same day we also met the quality inspectors who were cutting cheese for testing. We were fortunate enough to taste the 30-month-old cheese and were amazed by how good it was! This itinerary is suitable for friends who are interested in food.
booking of tour was easy, we had such a great time getting to know Parma ham and cheese
very cool experience, well run itinerary, I would recommend that you perhaps lengthen the itinerary to fit in a rest area for visitors to have some lunch perhaps a park ?
well organized and interesting.
